Mine sits in pretty damn good! its a bit smaller like not even a quart inch on both sides. but a roll cage would take that away!..

how much is the signal converter? i am not looking to spend to much. other wise i will just run with out it haha. but i want to calculate the milage ran more then speed.

OK so the S15 speedo will work with the dakota digital adapter on an s13 transmission, but what about everything else? Bear in mind that I'm driving a 93 pickup.

The tach will work fine, you will need a different fuel tank level sensor and coolant temp sensor.

I'm assuming both have to be from an s15. Do you know where I can find a wiring diagram for these gauges?

you can download a S15 FSM at phatG20.com.

Is that true that you have to exchange the fuel level sensor from an S15 as well???

I got a complete S15 motor 6 spd. with HLSD and the speed sensor wire harness; also S15 cluster which laying in the garage waiting for swap. So this set up I have is complete, except for the FUEL SENSOR???

hmm news to me! i had mine hooked up for a bit and the fuel level went up on it. granted mine does that on the 14 cluster til i am about ready to fill, and then it decides to go down lol

Its sounds like you have a reverse FUEL gauge....E is full and F is empty lol. Do you have S15 SR20DET with S14 cluster on S13 or S14 car?

naw, its not reversed. it goes up to full when the tank is full. but after 400km it starts to actually move downward. I am in the process to see how far it goes down. like there is a delay in it almost. cause it moves rather fast sometimes. Like it will go down really far, then com back up a bit.

sorry I have been gone for a while yes it is a simple wire in and test method (should take less than 3hrs. total.) the frequency converter will work on all types of vehicles that use electronic speedometers. say viper speedo in your truck...(if both are electric gauges)-Dave

There is one caveat to this cluster, you need a couple new sensors and need the pigtail connectors for the kouki cluster. Need a S14 speed sensor and an S14 temp sensor.

I could probably get a better pic tonight, those pics are very old.
I got the Cluster but without the pigtail connectors for the kouki cluster does someone know where to get it.?

You can use an FSM to do the wiring, use your stock plugs and re-wire them, it shouldnt take long if you're handy with wiring diagrams.

NOP they are not the same...You need the plugs with wires verry important for the TypeX Cluster

Honostly you are pretty SOL without them. Nissan/Infiniti connectors go through generation changes and sometimes can be used interchangably between parts and cars. In the 90's there were two or three generation changes, the kouki S13 cluster used plugs that are different from the 1990-1995 Nissans. So the only other chance you have would be to try and find a junkyard that has connectors for late 90's Nissans and infinitis and hope that one is similar enough to use. I had to do this with an S15 cluster once, I found some random radio connectors off of Sentra's and Maxima's that I could trim to make that work but that was still one hell of a hassle.

One of the biggest problems you run into with the kouki wiring is that there are less sub-connectors on that particular chassis. Unlike the 1991-1995 180SX/240SX where there is a seperate mini-harness for the cluster, climate control, etc. On the kouki 180SX the connectors are all loomed straight into the main wiring for the chassis. This is why you never see a sub-harness on the Kouki cluster, just pigtails. Also because its easier to just cut the wires anyway.

Or you could just solder the connections straight to the circuirty sheet on the back of the cluster.

Thx SpeedRacer1 I think i will make my self a home made connector by solder the connections straight to the circuirty sheet on the back of the cluster. Do you have advice on witch wire go where. Like you said most of them are visualy easy to folow, BUT the 1 or 2 left... i might need some backup on those.

Honestly I havent wired one of these in over 2 years, but all I used was the 1992 240SX FSM and the circuitry sheet on the back. Let me know if you get stuck on anything and I will pull the cluster out of my car since I am not driving it anyway.

Ok i got a couple wire i have no clue. I got pic and all. SpeedRacer1 Can your give me your email or msn so we could comunicate without this thread. I will do a How to Thread after its done. Also the ****ing S14 speedsensor is about 180$ in canada with taxe and all... What will hapen if a keep the S13 speedsensor? The speed will be off a bit or simply no speed at all on the cluster. Because i did check on both S13 and S14 FSM and they both should give the same .5V when tested manualy.

You need to use the S14 speed sensor or the speed will be off by alot. Generally half or double your actual speed. I have an S14 sensor but I am trying to sell it with a transmission I have. You will also need the single wire temp sensor for the engine otherwise it will read hotter than your engine actually is. My email is [email protected]
