S14 zenki corner light mods??

The kickass write up about 'smoking' or blacking out your headlights and clearing them was very inspirational and i did it, looks great. In the writeup and the original topic thread however the solution to separating and painting the corners was never resolved. I don't want to spray tint them and 1 guy said to boil them so they would come apart. Not to discredit him but can anyone back him up or offer another method, etc... or has this subject been conquered and my search attempts misguided? Answers please (details, i don't want to Rambo the lights)

BTW, how difficult was it to seperate the lens from the housing?

the only 2 ways ive ever heard of were to bake them in an oven briefly, or a dremel

went ahead and boiled them for about 30 mns and they separated with alot of elbow grease, put them n the oven to get them to stick back together. One is on the car but I chipped another while i was polishing it. just took black spray paint and did 2 light coats over the chrome paint so it was still reflective. I am going to do a write up on how to clear the lenses black 'em out and do the corners for really dirt cheap soon. I thought they were way too dark until i put them on the car and they look nice, subtle and different
