maybe iv'e lost my touch searching:( where does the transmission breater hose vent to?
which line meets the 'u' shaped tab on the bellhousing?

Vents to atmosphere I believe. Well, that's where mine is vented to, anyway.

The vent to atmosphere. Its only there to equalize pressure as the gear oil expands and contracts with change in temperature.

They like to get plugged with dirt, then the rear main seals start leaking a lot. Its a common problem.

Yup, would not be a bad idea to replace the tube with a longer one and run it up higher so its not as prone to having dirt collect in it.
