Hey Guys I had my 96 240sx for 9 months and i just recently crashed it about a week ago into the back of a u-haul truck -__-. As you can imagine i am super pissed off, because it is my first car and i am only 17 with a part-time job, but there is a good out come to all this. Since my car pretty much needs a front end i am gonna do a kouki conversion. This project will probley take me 3 months or so due to me lack of income and some minor sub-frame work has to be done but the chassie is in perfect condition. I need some feedback on what you all think and some estimate prices for this conversion process......here some pics tell me wat u think....Thankz

wow that looks pretty bad. sorry to see that. you ok? it looks pretty similar damage to mine. its not easy to replace the core support in the spots you need to. there is a lot of work involved. im in the middle of fixing mine currently.

here is a pic of mine, a month after i put my brand new VIS carbon fiber hood on

if you were to stay zenki, you could get the parts way cheaper. i found a guy that went with a kouki front and sold me all his zenki stuff for only 80 bucks. good luck man

Ouch! Motoman is right. I like the kouki front better but it is really going to cost you. I sold a front to a guy that came and picked it up for i think 800. They go from 1000-1500 online and that wont' have core support or metal bumpers and shipping will eat you alive. Zenkis are alot more common thus alot cheaper. I do have a core support and front metal bumper and brackets off a kouki if you need them. Worst case scenario if you part out you have the 5 lug that is worth a good bit.

Honestly i dont even know, but i was in a rush to get home for prom and i was tailgating that truck and i think i put down the phone and wasn't paying attention. I looked up and say red brake lights and i stomped on the brakes but not soon enough :frown:

Fiznowler I actually would love to have that kouki core support and bumper with the brackets because thats exactly what i need. The metal bumper u have thats the bumper support bar that sits behind the front bumper right? If so you have exactly wat i need. How much would you want for those goodies?

Yes thank god i walked out without a scratch and still made it to my high school prom, even though i was pissed off. For the peice of frame on both sides that attach to the core support, will i need to get those pulled straight or will i have to chop and re-weild a new peice?.....And that sucks about your carbon fiber hood :frown:

ya im also thankful that i walked out without a scratch. air bag scraped both arms thats all. i replaced the carbon fiber hood haha. its sitting in my room. as for those peices, you can pull them straight, but you will most likely have to widen the holes in the fenders and add washers to them. and they wont be as strong as if you drilled out the spot welds and replaced the pieces. you would be better off going to the junk yard and getting the core support from a s14 there (assuming that there is one). or like me, i found someone who bought a full front clip from japan and used the engine and body panels. so i bought the whole front clip for 400. and in florida you should be able to find something near by. i drove 10 hours with a trailer to get mine. did you get laid at least? i hope so!!

Oh ok cool thanks for the tips...but does that core support come with the peices of fender frame that are crumpled in in pix # 4 & 5? and if so then i can just cut it out and spot weld it on right?....as for prom all the hotels were booked :/ but i settled for the next best thing, i got wasted out of my mind to forget all about my 240 lol

I think i'm still gonna go Kouki, but won't a zenki bumper support fit a kouki? Because in the coversion kit nobody told me i need a kouki bumper support?

from what everybody has told me (no first hand here) the zenki is a little lower than the kouki. meaning that your bumper would "sag" but you could always try it....
