IMO stock zenki tails look cheaper than ebay led tails. lol BUT I am biased against anything zenki so you have to overlook me I guess.

Overlooking you....

Any progress on this I wouldn't mind doing something similar to this.

I am working on wiring the lights up and it is a lot of soldering. Any Ideas on dimming the lights would be welcome.

Would adding a higher value resistor do the trick?

After taking a "Other projects" break I have finally got a chance to get back to work on this project. Since my last post I have finished out the Lenses, they are clear and look great, and have figured out what to do for dimming the lights. My first option was a PWM to strobe the lights much faster than the human eye can process and all was well until an on vehicle test, then my 4 hours of micro soldering went up in a flame ball as the 555 timer chip shorted out. Next option was a Diode with a voltage drop to dim the lights, it worked but created a strange strobing effect. So Like the last post suggested I went the resister route-sort of and installed a Potentiometer on the running light side. It worked. Now if I can just figure out how to use my expensive new camera and get a decent night shot of these lights. here is a side by side comparison.

The light by itself

Drivers Side Break Running Light Combo plate - 35 LEDs

Doing my best to keep everything together.

Note that the light is just dangling from my trunk and it is upside down it will look better once it is in the case.

I'm glad to see you're back on this project as I have been following this one closely. Post some pics of the tail lamps in the day w/o them on and w/ them on. I'm curious to see how clear the lenses came out. Keep up the hard work.

That's some clean work there. They look good. Can't wait to see a finished product.

You should sell them w/ a core for the S14 guys who want LED tail lights.
