Looking at wheels for an S13... Want something in a tuner style, gunmetal or black, 4-lug, with a polished lip.

In the price range I need to be in, all I'm seeing is 17x7, 40mm offset.

If I ran this size, with some 5mm spacers, will I be relatively close to flush?

Keep in mind I'll probably run a LITTLE more tire than most guys (I don't like the stretched Tijuana / drifter look).

Thanks guys!

No...won't be flush at all (and I'm not even talking the jdm flush look).

OK, so lets hear some recommendations...

I don't want to do ANY fender mods, and want my alignment set properly... 1.5" drop on all corners.

I'd like to stick with a 235 tire as well.

hitman... no.

not even close

if i were you.. i'd go 17x9 rear with like a 25-30 offset. roll the fenders with a 245/40/17 or 255/40/17 rear.

front... 17x8 +20ish with 225/45/17 or 235/40/17

i don't predict you wanting super low or mega camber, so you should be able to fit a bigger tire with closer to 0 camber all around.

if you have to, get something slightly higher and get some nice spacers (like H&R)... 17x7 = total crap. how much do you want to spend on wheels?

Good info...

Don't really wanna roll the fenders if I can avoid it... Especially if there's a chance of damaging the perfectly straight body.

The problem is, this is a "toy". The Q gets all the good stuff, this thing has gotta be ULTRA low budget.

Tell me more about the spacer idea... I'm kind of averse to the idea of them since I like a full-seated set of lugs, but I also know there's a LOT about the 240 I don't know.

I like the 255/40/17 idea... Musclecar-style, baby!

Gimme some more ideas here, I'm sure someone will pop up with some used stuff to keep me in the budget.

greg,

rolling fenders is different from pulling fenders. i have pulled fenders, it's when you need to fit ungodly sized wheels on.

if you put your hand under the fender, it's like this... like an L: |_ when you roll the fender, you push the bottom part up, like this: |l all it does is give you a few more mm to play with as far as tire size. YOU CANNOT TELL A FENDER IS ROLLED FROM LOOKING AT IT. you have to put your hand under to tell.

rolling fenders is nothing, everyone should do it that has aftermarket suspension or wheel/tire combo. but if you're not going to lower it enough that the tire never gets above the bottom of the fender lip (through the full stroke range), then it doens't make any difference.

spacers.. sandwich spacers suck, but a good set of high quality spacers (H&R or wheelspacer.com style) will be just fine. just be sure to avoid poo sized wheels, even if they have crap offsets and get spacers and you're ok.

edit; i forgot, you're 4 lug... spacers for you! good 4 lug wheels are rare right now, but in about 6 months, should have a better choice.

Cool - I "rolled" the fenders on my 68 Gran Sport (with a baseball bat), just didn't know what it was called.

OK, So 40mm offset is out completely?

Back to the drawing board.

How about these?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=WDVW

17X9, +18 OFFSET

If Nissan's 5-lug pattern is the same as Ford's, is the 4-lug as well?

Too high of an offset for a 9" wheel.

NICE!

I do believe that they do fit.

17x9 +18 will stick out, much like mine did on stock fenders.

however... you're on the right track. you can get some 17x9 +24 cobra knockoffs on ebay. those will be more reasonable. though the ones i was looking at were 5 lug.

you might want to ask around to find out what the ford lug pattern for 4 lug is first.

greg....dude...

17x8 +25mm offset, be done with it, 235-40-17 all around

or 225-45-17 all around. plenty of sticky tires, you'll be able to rotate them, and it'll be flush with stock alignment settings...

-chetsearch around, but good wheels dont come cheap man..vetter to save up and get good quality ones.

I agree with chet.

Also, if you do go with the mustang wheels, you'll need to get hubcentric rings. They are not hubcentric or lugcentric for nissans. Don't plan on running any tiny tuner lugs either.

Grrrrr.

Just finding 17x9 is hard enough, but finding a numerically low offset is looking difficult as well.

I'll keep searching. If anyone spots anything reasonable, you know where to find me. :)

4-lug cobra wheels will not fit 240's

5x4.50" (5x114.3mm), 5x4.25" (5x108mm), 4x4.25" (4x108mm)

those are the bolt patterns on them..

I was looking at them too a while ago since they come in 4 lug and great offsets.. but alas, that does not work..

will just have to wait till end of this year for some great wheels..

they are coming.. belive me you, they are coming! :)

and

you're not allowed to buy wheels in 4 lug ever again. do 5 lug first, then you can buy some wheels.

Ryan -

How about a 7.5" wheel width, 40mm with 25mm spacers?

Wouldnt low offset on wide wheels make them stick out like crazy? Im gonna need that when i go widebody but if not it would look horrible. Get a higher offset so u can space them because you sure as hell cant bring em in :)

greg, i'm telling you, get at least a 17x8 or 8.5.

you'll need a 25mm spacer to make a 7.5 +40 look flush, but you can put a 225/45/17 across it and it should be more or less straight up and down.

Thinking about those. They're 18x7.5, +40mm, I'll add 25mm spacers.

Plus they're just ghetto enough to keep me humble. :)

H&R?

i think they are H&R.. as long as they are hubcentric and if you're going big, bolt on, then yes. i would call them first and tell them what you're doing.

The H&R's are hubcentric, but you must use Honda lug nuts with them.
