Sold my 89 240sx HB back when i picked up a 2006 WRX Limited....I regretted it ever since...I bought it for 600 here on Nico, no one wanted to tow it since it needed a new diff, old one was locking up. But the owner was willing to tow it all the way to the house so i bought it and it got towed for free.....went to a junk yard and got a new pumpkin for 150 and installed, ran great for nearly two years til i sold it...

I loved my wrx, it took care of me pretty well but i never felt attached to it as my other subaru, 2001 2.5RS(GC8), which i still have but not with me at the moment.

wrx was very fun, but never really got me the way it did from the GC or the S13

So i decided to sell it.....*sad face but not so sad*

picked up one of these bad boys....

Image

LOVE IT....

But always had my eyes out for another hatchback....bought one but was not happy with it so i quickly sold it....

Image

Way too much work to restore to what i wanted.....engine was very strong and clean interior but the body.....that needed lots of love.

Then...

I found....

this....

From a guy who bought the car back in 1988, garage kept til about a year or so ago.....body is in great shape but since it sat for so long it needed a VERY good cleaning. Car is number 246....soooooo sexy =D So i am slowly restoring it and putting my own lil flare to it. Plus get it ready for some auto-xing =]

Cruising around Renton and parked next to this guy.....=]

its been awhile, nearly 5 years since i had a 240......=] still love the way it feels....its good to be back! :inoutgay:

Maybe i am just an underdog junkie.... >=]

It starts with one, then maybe another sneaks in. Suddenly you realize there are 2 s chassis in your garage, another sitting outside without an engine, and 3 shelves full of spare parts, a couple transmissions, and a KA on a stand.

Welcome back to addiction. Im glad I've thinned my collection back to just 2. I doubt I will ever drop below 1 any time soon.

Hopefully it will stay at 1.0 =] Hows your 240 handle on the dirt? What kinda of diff are you running? 1.5 or 2.0?

Would you have listened?

I dont intend the information to stop the poor guy, just inform him. Sometimes its nice to know whats likely to happen in the future.

Eh not my decision, er im not the one that let it get that way. Tried to salvage it but ya know the saying cant turn a ho into a house wife. It applies to cars as well.

Trust me, I have never let a car get to the point of rotting. It aquirre them in that condition and either I save them, or they turn into parts. When someone offers you a 91 hatch for $150, you buy it. So what if it doesn't have an engine.

I know right. When I got my first S14 back in like 2001, I really had no idea what I was getting myself into. Knowing wouldn't have stopped me, but at least I could have planned things out.

Morph...there's a Pretty Woman in all of us...

FlatBlackIan - Ah I see, this is my short history of used cars where I couldn't let a good deal pass....1985 Corolla SR5 Red/Black Hatch bought for 180 Bucks(gave to an ex girl who wanted to learn stick but only drove it once and then let it rust, b****....), 1986 Corolla SR5 Hatch Grey $300 , 1987 Corolla GTS Black/Grey $1500, 1991 240SX HB White for $200, 1989 240sx HB White $600, 1989 240sx HB Black 2000 and now the 1989 240sx Midnight Blue for $2000(and about 1400 into it already)

If i didn't sell the black one that quickly it would have became a part out car. I was thinking about swapping the blue interior for the black. The motor was a lot better in the black one as well. Maybe the AC too.....but then again Seattle never really gets that hot.....=] out of all the old cars I had this is the first one without AC....=T :chuckle:
