well since i have no job right now im just trying to keep busy. i went to the junk yard and picked up red and orange gauge needles off a 01 Sentra. i decided to go with the red here. the two bigger needles are plug and play. the other two needed a little bit of modification but it all worked out pretty d@mn good i have to say. I'll shoot a pic of it lit up tonight.

You were lucky. People, don't do this. If you pull the needle a little too hard, your speedo or tachometer won't work anymore. It's not worth taking a risk IMO. OP that's good job you did without damaging them. Red should be darker like 180sx kouki needles. Too bright for me.

the trick is not to pull the needle out. the needle has to be twisted out. i learned that messing with my old cluster that was already broken. RIP HUD cluster....

Ummmmmm.....why didn't you just color the needle with some paint or something? Even a sharpie would probably work.

On a s13You have to drop the steering column there are 4 12mill bolts keeping the steering column up. Two are just nuts on a i think a bracket that should be w/e color ur car is near the pedals, and 2 more bolts closer to the wheel they're kinda hidden. After the columns down remove the 2 panels behind the steering wheel that wrap around your ignition. Thats 6 screws then remove the panels and the plastic shroud around your cluster i think has two screws on the bottom with two clips and 2 screws on the top of it. Remove that and your cluster should come off after that they're might be a few more screws. The clear plastic is clipped on its an easy removal. The whole process should only take 10 minutes.

not to shabby but i agree with 94_240sx's warning and the fact that the red is a little bright. if you have spare clusters to mess with go for it. i clicked on this thread expecting to see an ugly gauge face cover so this is better then i expected

How about this? Needles are plain white color, but when lights up, they are different colors.

I don't see it ...can you post a before pic? I guess its another way to put a lil shine on your needles. If that's what you were going for...
