Ran into this in other forum. Color clear backing plastic with red sharpie and you get red needles at night.

ditto...that picture above almost looks kinda like how my z32 gauge cluster needles when they light up.

How about this? Needles are plain white color, but when lights up, they are different colors.

I would thought if you colored those back pieces, that notches and the numbers would turn red also, I must be mistaken. Because with my new backlit gauge faces i need rid of my blue needles and turn'em red or orange.

cool idea, but i'd like to have red needles during the day too! looks way better than white on white. i might do this sometime soon... but i don't wanna mess up the needles like that guy above said... hmm

ok heres an update. I took a pic of the cluster lit up.

btw where do u buy that ring that lights up (in your case its green) around the ignition key? i hate not finding the hole at night to start my car lol

i pulled that ignition light from a stanza. i bored out the plastic housing so the light could fit in properly.
