Not much middle ground.

Either you want a suspension like drag hks with slow rebound characteristic or not, really.

Maybe you mean 'more daily driver' as in, less than the $1875 asking price?http://phase2motorsports.store....html

I dunno, maybe you have OEM suspension and a simple shock and spring upgrade would give a better feel with less pitch on hard launch??

i got no problem with the price but the hypermax drags are complicated there's so much to adjust im looking for a more simple coilover that will be good to use on a drag racing car

I would suggest emailing Tein. They should be able to supply you with a basic damper kit custom valved to your liking, with springs weighted to help promote good launches.

Another thing I would look into SPL Parts. They supply subframe bushing spacers that will allow you to increase the squat of your rear suspension, which will also aid in drag racing.

its not hard to adjust... they're like any other coilover out on the market; damper and ride height adjustable. that's all.

Only difference is, the spring rate and damper settings are set very soft to absorb the launch.

otherwise, I'd go with what SmithSR suggested and use some sort of soft spring set up and some accommodating dampers.

Maybe shocks from other cars can be fitted?.. Like from Pontiacs/Camaros. Drag specs QA1 cost I think about $320 for a front pair, plus some maybe $200 for front springs and you are good to go... Maybe this can be adapted to S13?

Stock rear suspension should be plenty soft to get a good launch. rb25drag drags his S13 all the time and pulls 1.6 60fts regularly. Maybe drop him a line and see what he uses in specific.

That's another problem - my S13 is lowered already, I wouldn't want just to put stock springs on all 4 corners, stock S13 looks like jeep...So need smth. at least height adjustable for the front, but not 6-8kg

That is a sacrifice you'll have to make if you want a softer suspension. The suspension will travel more and require more wheel-to-fender gap as the spring rate drops.

you could swap the stock stuff in and out for trips to the 1/4 mile, but its a lot of added effort

And you'd have to get an alignment each time you changed the suspension out. Probably not a feasible option unless you remember the exact settings for each suspension setup or you are made of money.
