Hay just noticed that my clips chassis code says "ps13" not "rps13". which means that it was a silvia. it also has no buttons or relay box for flip up headlights but it does have flip up headlights. what is the deal. would someone really convert a silvia front to a 180sx, and why??

I don't see why not. I mean, the person might have liked the pop ups better. But hmmm does seem slightly iffy.

It is iffy. But its not like i can do n e thing about it. i already own the clip.

the strange thing is the car was also repainted, and has a engine wiring harness from an automatic, but its a manual. Also, a 3 foot section of the chassis harness has been rewired, i know this because there are no color coded wires in that section, they are all just red and black!

P.S. i got the motor in my car and it runs like ****. If you can help me out please fallow the link.zerothread?id=360014

its called the one via. its the other sil-80 conversion. its like the coupes in the usa. since nissan put the sil-80s in production they made a few one via's to see how they would sell. nothing to worry about as far as conversions n such. id be more worried about the motor its self running properly and internals rather than the chassi. i checked the link and it sounds like it needs a tune for the ecu. what might of happened was the guy that had it before it got chopped was a project car and didnt get a chance to finish tuning it. its happened before.

that does make some sence, but for some reason i was also under the impression that the reason why the s13s are cut is because they where involved in an rear end accident, which would mean that the car was running before it was cut. Thanks for the info though, i have never herd of a one via before.

Did they really make legitimate Onevias? I've read a few Aussies on Nissansilvia.com lament about wanting a 180 nose on their Silvia but to my knowledge the only combo that was ever legit was the Sil80.

Nobody ever made a one-via conversion to sell AFAIK. The Sil80 was the only conversion you could buy from a showroom.

And not all front clips are shipped because of rear end damage. The cars get cut because it's cheaper to ship just the nose of the car than the whole chassis. US customs raises eyebrows when entire cars that aren't US legal come on container boats. And cars end up in junk yards for more than collisions in Japan. And it's not necessarily motor trouble.

You don't think I don't know that? I was making more of a mention that there was never any One-Vias made available for purchase. Much like I can buy a 240 with a silvia front on it, but I couldn't have rolled to a Nissan dealer in the 90s and bought it like that straight from the factory.

Hahahaha, I was sure you knew that, but it was something that hadnt been mentioned. I think kids these days idolize japanland. They don't realize that tuners there arent as different as those here. Its just that here, we have a lot more wannabes and cheap asses.

ive heard that before they ship them overseas they convert them to usdm fronts so they have a better possibility to get through customs(cuz we gots the popups and they probably wouldnt take a second look)...this might be one of those circumstances

Maybe, but not this one. The whole car had a custom paint job. But now that i have been looking, i have actually seen a few jdm silvias with popups.
