I've been working around these spiders for about a month and decided to take some pictures of how many I have to kill every time I go to work on the s13...There is a DIFFERENT BLACK WIDOW in each picture. There are no different angle shots. In case some of you don't know, a single bite from a black widow can be LETHAL or send you into a coma. 100% of the bites are agonizing and painful. Luckily I haven't been bitten yet but these things are multiplying faster than I can kill them. FYI I've killed more than 50 of these already.See if you can find the Black widow in each picture.Does anyone know how to repel these spiders?

Holy bejesus!

I would NEVER work on my car with those things around. I HATE SPIDERS.

Call an exterminator or something. I wouldn't even want to get close enough to those to kill them.

wow that really sucks. your black widows look puny compared to the ones i find out here. i live in the boonies and any time im pickin up parts out of my yard and cleanin up i tend to find fat ones that are jet black with the hourglass on them. yours look more brownish.

id bomb the car honestly. not a boom bomb but a bug bomb. black widows arent as lethal as they used to be back in the day with modern medicine.

s*** now you got me all scared and lookin around because its startin to get cold out here and that means the spiders start comin in my house seeking warmth.......bah....i hate spiders. we got all kinds out here, ever seen a bannana or zipper spider? huge yellow ones that make zippers on their webs? the worse is when huge a** wolf spiders make it inside and they have hundreds of babies on their back......

lol i thought i was the only one with this problem, fortunately i have yet to find one in my interior, but im sure the day will come. I had an infestation of those f*ckers in my engine bay, in front of the radiator, and under my car after it sat all summer. what i did was i sprayed my bay heavily with wd40, then pressure washed the bay heavily (covered air filter and all the little vents and stuff with plastic bags, and tape) i then sprayed under the car the best that i could with the car on jacks, havent had an issue since

ahh man i wish that was my car, i rarely see black widows. ive been thinking about buying a few when the reptile show comes around again cause some of the people there sell spiders too. IDK maybe im one of the few people that like spiders, when im at work and they get in the shop i pick them up and take them outside.

That sounds like a good idea!

*checks where the OP lives* D'oh! You're screwed! Florida is all like " is winter?"

I googled 'Black Widow Repellant' and this came up: http://www.pestproducts.com/spiderkit.htm

Good luck, man.

shiiiiiit, i kill a brown recluse just about every time i walk outside at night, we're talking big f***ing ones that you hear crunch when they pop. actually saw a wolf spider destroy this feeder mouse one night when i saw it scurry past me while installing my rear end.

i can't wait to move here in the next two weeks, i'm tired of kicking things before i pick them up. garage FTW

wow that sucks! Is the car driveable? If so, a carwash with underbody flush should probably get rid of them.

Had the same problem with my car and it got even worse when i had to let my car sit for the 6 months i was on deployment but when i pulled the motor out and sprayed degreaser everywhere i have yet to find another black widow anywhere in my car. on a side not that video kind of looks like what happend to me when i get bite by a brown recluse(i think thats how it spell it) i just drained the bite of that puss stuff for awhile thinking it would go away on its on but it didnt. i almost had to have surgery!

those ***holes aren't fun. i got bit right on my knee by one and almost had to have surgery on my knee because i was allergic and it f***ing destroyed my knee. anyways i'd say power wash and deff make a fire near the car they f***ing hate fire. but do something bout it before they start laying eggs in the interior of your car and then you'll have your whole car taken over. good luck and let me know what ends up happening

That is F***in scary dude. Seriously though, bugs freak me out so I just have a bottle of bug killer that I picked up at the grocery store around me at all times when I am working on my car. I see a bug. I spray. It falls writhing in pain. I step on it. I get back to work.

Plus it says it kills for an additional 3 months in the sprayed areas (which I doubt) but whatever. Better than nothing, right?

Also I can kill flies mid air with it. They are just so annoying.

I stored my car on the side of my house when I wasn't working on it. I noticed all the webs and decided to put the car up on jackstands to pressure wash it before moving it inside. The day after I moved it into the garage I noticed all the webs were back. I just came out every hour or so and checked for spiders. I killed 3 HUGE black widows with the propane torch over 3 days. One crawled over to where my parts were and was hiding under my transmission.

If you keep your car outside, i don't know if there is much you can do

I think I'm going to try the moth ball idea... These are just the younger widows that make new webs every day. I've killed some that would barely be able to fit in the palm of my hand. The only reason they look brown is because these pictures were taken at night with a flash.I have a garage but I'm using it for my carbon work right now but it's where I spotted the first and largest one. I'm mostly worried because I have a newborn. I haven't seen on inside yet but it's only a matter of time before they get in with the way they're multiplying. Also, I've seen Brown Recluse spiders and a huge banana spider. The black widows must be killing them because I rarely find them alive. When you hunt for them it's best to do it at night. You can tell it's a black widow web by the strength. If its strong enough to hold a small wrench then look around, they are never more than a foot away from that web.

they dont look like Black Widows, they should be jet black and have a red dot on the bottom of them which is very noticable. Regardless....good luck.

my daily maxima actually has little webs in it almost every day and I never leave the windows open. my 240 that sits on the garage stays rather free of them unless I leave the windows open.
