I would talk to your dad if I were you btw...

Imo, that sounds like just an excuse to not get that car...like scrapmetal said, stuff like that is really easy to fix anyways.

I'm also a member of the No A/C Club, but I've been a lazy douche. My compressor is locked up, I should just go find a good one at the junkyard. Damn, I gotta stop procrastinating.

It probably is just an excuse. I talked to my dad some more and we went driving a bit, and he said he wanted me to have a "reliable" car and that I could get a "fast car" with my own money. Then he proceeded to show me some late model Kia and Hyundais and s***.It sucks. I'm probably going to get a old a** Mazda B2200 now..suckss.I have like one hope left and its this http://atlanta.craigslist.org/cto/1294323842.htmlBut Idk anymore. I might have to wait to graduate to get a 240.

Don't get a used compressor. You'll regret it. I sure did.

My s13 was my first car, and it's still around.

Just don't be an idiot. Your parents are probably right though, get something newer and never look back.

Air conditioning functions as a dehumidifier on defrost settings. I guess windows on old cars don't ever fog up.

Removing AC is akin to removing interior. One day soon, you'll grow up and be like WTF did i do that for? /facepalm

Save weight by hitting the treadmill or going outside once in a while.

What if the place you live in never really gets cold....or you a have really big jackets? Can i haz no AC then? And dont worry about the heat, sweating helps one lose weight, so no need for that treadmill either.

Lol For real! You know you can't play that chit in the south! A/C + window tint is needed for your survival! lol

Op. Your dad doesn't want you to get a 240 since it doesn't have a/c and radio? He doesn't want you to get a fun car? So you're gonna have to get innovative on his a$$ and think outside the box!

Start looking for older Lexus SC300's &/or GS300's. You should be able to find stock versions within your $4000 budget or even lower. You can think of them as luxurious MKIV Supra's. RWD and lots of potential! Your Dad will probably love the idea since he might not know that you can make these super fresh and fast. Here's some inspiration:

When girls at your school hear you got a Lexus, bishes are gon drop panties. 240's can't do that...

Look!A V8! SC400! Pimp! Tons of them in your area!http://atlanta.craigslist.org/ctd/1298302378.htmla GS300 for $2000 OBO?!http://atlanta.craigslist.org/cto/1293420850.htmlThese model cars haven't been drift-taxed, yet. Start looking outside the fanboy box!

Yeah man i've been thinking outside the box. I saw a nice a** SC300 around my area, Black on black, for like 6,000. But I'm gonna aim higher. My dad wants reliability? "hey dad, IS300s are reliable! and they're lexus so you know its good quality!"

then when i leave this place, i could probably trade an is300 for like 2 "alright" 240s or maybe a nice a** one. Cuz most Is300s are automatic(and why would i want to be stuck with that).

Lol Mike, A Huge ad.

Man that sucks

That's a clean car, with a real nice KA.

A/C, Power Steering, and a Radio are for Luxury Cars. Go spend your 15 grand and get that.

I suppose..... Good luck with your new purchase OP

Haha, Sportmaxes suck balls. 16x7.5 +30ish wheels are definitely better.

yeah I would just get the YARIS SPORT. Hey, look in the bright side, your parents are buying you a car. you can always come back to the 240's.

The Yaris kinda reminds me of the second coming of the EG6 Civic. It might not be so bad. Everything looks better slammed with nice wheels.

This should help ya:http://www.yarisworld.com/foru...&f=17

But honestly, If I was gonna spend $15k on a car that your parents would agree with and still has some balls, I'd suggest a 6th gen Maxima. It's FWD, but as fast as a 350z and alot better than a Yaris.

I'd love to have a Yaris. Great commuter car, AWESOME on gas.

Let them get that for you, then pick up an s13 for $500-$1000 as a project.

Or give me the Yaris and I'll gladly give you my sil40.

Ew, i'd rather just bike everywhere. At least it has a positive effect on my body.I mean, why buy an expensive(15k is pretty pricey) car that I wont even want in 1 year. That's all I'm saying. Maybe i can get a Sentra Type R? Those look clean.
