Well if you even read a shred of our previous posts, you will notice we aren't on about that topic anymore. failfailfail

Sorry did not read all of it, but i would like to say. This is a great idea, but we a dropping the ball somewhere. The 240sx we all know and loved was badged the poot mans sports car. Look at the history of the car, not just the 240, but the old school datsun 280. They were cheap, good on gas, reliable, and built like porshes on a magine of porshe money, not only was it called the poor mans sport car it is considered the last affordable sports car in it era. Bring it back that would be awesome, maybe even a four door like the rx8 and saturn. Keep in mind the GTR and the 350z can not go down on power, Nissan does not need three full out sports car in the market and it would hamper sales of there sports cars. Think PROFIT they do. This is my idea of why we did not receive the ca18 or the sr20, would the 300z be as popular or sold as well as did if we had these engines in out 240sx. Originaly the 240sx we all love was marketed towards women. Bring back a legend, not a car that will flop and leave us shaken our heads in disapointment. Cost is the bottom line, Make this car from existing parts and leave it to nissan loyal follows to put it together the same way we can now. The 240sx crosses parts with many cars, even parts from the 350z fit on the old 240sx, that tells me something can happen. Anyway thats my 2 cents.

Unfortunately. Nissan has no reason to bring back the 240SX. If you compare the 350Z (base) to the 240SX (base) in 89. . .they are in the same ball park. The 350Z is a reliable car, having an engine that has won some awards since its realese in what 01? Since the engine first came out, they have not changed the displacement, but somehow found a way to make 65 more HP and better fuel economy. The 3.5 is Nissans baby - If they were to bring back any kind of S chassis, I think it would be coated with this engine. Practically a 2 door altima rear wheel drive. With thinner lights lol.

1st post idea: AWD 240sx =WTF???!!!!

Keep it what it was....a small sporty RWD sports car

If nissan could have 3 sport cars in the early 90's...(300zx,240sx,skyline) than why cant it now??...

Now would be the perfect time to give the Genesis coupe some competition.

I like your thinking, but if you remember, Nissan almost went out of business selling the SX / ZX cars. They had to sell themselves to Renault, although we all feel really passionate about our cars. Nissan is still a business, building a car to satisfy I don't know...let's say..5000 240SX enthusiasts, of which, maybe 5% will actually be able to afford and purchase. They don't stand to make a lot of money!

The Genesis has competition, in the form of the Altima coupe, and the 350Z. I'd love a rebirth of a RWD - 4 seater - Coupe - affordable Nissan however, it would make the decision of buying a new car for me a LOT easier.

I've read about that supposedly 2010 Silvia. It looks like a RWD Altima coupe. Silvia's are suppose to be long and sleek. This model in the article is short and stumpy. SAd to say, but if it looks anything like in that article, my money's going to that new Camaro.

I'd love to see them bring back the 240 ...maybe call it the 250sx with the new redesigned qr25 but I don't see them making a car to compete with the Z using the same engine. I did see something about a 2010 silvia so we can dream can't we?

Petitions are funny,

business people rarely look at them because 95% of the people who sign them really don't give a crap. Besides, another 240 type model might drive down the value of some of the later s14's and I dont want that!!!

I wish they made a new 240.

All we really need is a single turbo i4, 5/6 spd, and rwd. Maybe LSD as an option. And a sub 2500 lbs curb weight would be amazing.

I doubt it will happen, though.

They way it is today it would be very hard to get the car under 3,000 pounds, even the new crx weighs 2,8000 pounds.

I am so happy and sickened that this thread got revived so I could read the first 3 pages.

Most of the posts (at least in the first 3 pages) were not based on reality. It's times like these that I wish Nico had some stronger moderation, not to the extreme of Zilvia, but somewhere in between the two.

This is not a place for pipe-dreams and idiocy, it is where people can post up discussions with INTELLIGENCE.

What I got from this piece of crap thread, was the OP + 1 or 2 others repeating the same crap each post without taking into account any of the FACTS that were spoon-fed to them. To me, that deserves a thread lock right there.

I really....reallllllly want to slap the OP of this thread.

i think it would be cool for them to offer a stripped-down, no frills, all options delete, plain colored, balls to the wall track car. ( for autocross, drift, drag). have a really badass trubo 4banger or a high HP N/A 4clylinder. then leave the body pretty much stock with excecptions of areo where needed. have a track prepped suspension. and interior wise-completly spartan, no radio, heater, a/c, console, rear seat, sound material. just the necceciteys like gauges, two buckets shifter/e-brake, and crank windows.all rolling on wide(er) steelie wheels powdercoated black.

my two cents

God i hate new cars when they are trying to make a car that everyone loves but just fail at renewing or 'refreshing' the design.

I say they just make a ton of kouki chassis with a better engine. Or use an S15 chassis with different lights and engine.

Either way if something new comes out its probably not going to be very awesome and the price will be way above mid-range like it was with all our s chassis.

I dont think they will make another s chassis car just because we at NICO ask them too. Lets be realistic, how many of us could actually afford buying one, saying its 20k. Most people here are either kids in high school or broke college students.

They say dreams can happen if you hope hard enough. I hope someone gives me 1 million dollars tomorrow
