He was an idiot, he died like an idiot. Good Riddance. Too bad his passenger wasn't Jonny Knoxville.

I agree with AZ...there's no reason to feel sorry for this man or what he brought upon himself. He chose to drink and drive, this is the consequence of his actions

And this is the only thing that people will remember about this guy, good that he didn't take any innocent lives on the road.

Oh and RIP. Despite the total effing moron that he was, I'm sure his family is mourning.

This is why you don't drink and drive. Ryan won't have to live with this, the people that loved him will. It hurts to know you lost a loved one because they did something stupid. My uncle died from hepatitis from sharing heroin needles. It sucks, but he died because he was stupid. I love him, but that's the truth.

Even if he wasn't drunk, he's still an idiot for going that fast. It's odd that most people are over looking his speed.

Wow, just wow. I understand he brought this upon himself for drinking and driving and excessively speeding, but seriously you guys are being more than a little harsh. Ryan was an exceptionally nice guy and despite his penchant for taking risks and doing utterly stupid s***, he was a as much of a gear head as everyone here if not more so. He was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back without asking you why you needed it, that to me makes him a better man than a lot of the people on this board (or walking the Earth for that matter). Might I add that his passenger was one of the executive producers for Jackass 2 and lived no more than 200 yards from where the crash happened and his new wife heard the crash (and was probably the first to call 911, not knowing that it was her husband). If you guys want to hate and make jokes to make yourselves feel better, feel free, but know that your insensitivity to the whole situation is posted on the internet and makes this forum look like a bunch of D-Bags. While I never met Ryan personally, I know a ton of people who were really good friends with him as he was friends with just about every tuner in the greater Philadelphia area.

We're not being harsh, we're being realistic. You'd likely feel very differently about him had he killed someone you love while he was drunk driving at a 130mph at 2am. Sorry, Warlord, drunk driving is unacceptable, no matter how friendly or popular a person he was.

Not saying that I agree with his choices that night, just saying that some of the comments in this thread are a based on personal opinions of the dude based on what he did for a living and not on who he was as a person. I agree that drinking and driving is inexcuseable as is driving at the excessive speed that he was doing, but can everyone in this thread honestly say that if you had a car capable of traveling at the speeds that his GT3 RS could (I can guarantee that it wasn't a stock GT3 RS) that you wouldn't be inclined to do so? While I'm sure Greg, Becky, and Bubba wouldn't, I can't say the same for everyone else. Just keep in mind that while yes he was drinking and driving, he was still subject to human error like we all are. Remember it only takes one lapse in judgement to wind up in the same place Ryan and Zach are right now. I'm also pretty sure that everyone here is guilty of drinking and driving at least once.

Wrong.

I have ZERO tolerance for people who DUI. Make excuses for him someplace else.

People who DUI make a conscious decision to leave their home and drink, knowing full well they'll have to get home somehow.

Sorry for his friends and family. I'm glad he didn't hurt anyone innocent.

Yea, when I was 17. Did it once, and got hit more than a few times by my dad. Never did it again.

It is actually really sad to see Bam like that. I don't feel sorry for Dunn, he was being a complete idiot. But for everyone else who was close to him, I sympathize for them.

"Jackass star Ryan Dunn had received at least 23 driving citations in the 13 years before his fatal car accident Monday.

10 were for speeding and careless driving, and three more were for driving with a suspended license, and at least one resulted in a DUI arrest.

The accident reports indicate a speed of 130mph at the time of the crash, and the bartender of the establishment in the photos confirmed that he had, in fact, been drinking prior to his crash.

"Police say a preliminary the toxicology report back from the Chester County Coroner’s office says Dunn blood alcohol concentration was .196.

The legal limit in Pennsylvania is .08."

.196 is F***ED UP.

If that had been you or I, we'd have been locked up.

I'm glad he didn't take anyone else out with him. One less idiot driver who thinks he's special.

...commence hatin', celebrity-worshippers. :)

Hey bro, no doubt, I agree he shouldnt have been driving. His choice of drunk driving was wrong. However you may have crossed a line. I am not arguing with you, nor am I condeming you. I feel for that young souls parents and family who may one day come across what you have written. I would think it may come off to them as a bit hurtfull. Perhaps, a retraction may be in order? completely up to you. Please dont take what I am saying the wrong way. I am not judging. I hope that what we say doesnt add to the pain and suffering of those already grieving and mourning. My prayers go out to his family, that there pain may be eased as time goes on. I too have lost loved ones due to drunk driving. Sincerely, Pasquale C. M

Not to be inflammatory, but you've never had 1 or 2 drinks with dinner and then driven home, just because you aren't feeling the effects of it doesn't mean you weren't drinking and driving. Hell you can get a DUI for driving after a dose or 2 of Nyquil... Just saying, you don't have to be buzzed or drunk to be DUI/DWI, all it takes is 1 beer or 1 glass of wine with dinner to count, and depending on the state you are in and you metabolism, you could still blow over the limit.

No.

I haven't.

Why is that so hard for people to comprehend?

If I have a drink with dinner, my wife drives. Period. I always consider the worst-case scenario... Some pinhead with no insurance sees I have a nice car, decides it's payday... gets me in a fender-bender, then shows up later with eyewitnesses who testify I was drinking earlier... No thanks. I think ahead. Perhaps Mr. Dunn should have done the same.

BTW, you're way off on your science (and knowledge of the law), but that's irrelevant.

Not even in college? Seriously, I doubt that. Even eating some rum cake and getting into your car is the same.
