Has anyone tried this yet? I mean, this would make the car so much lighter because the engine weighs less correct, and produces more power right?

Is this a good idea?

~HAHAHA~ I just noticed that my "ranking" of posting says I have Intake, Strut Bars, and Plug Wires... Well, matter of fact, that's exactly what I have just missing KyB struts.~HAHAHA~

i am gonna try and do thisthe car would be sooo fast and i dont think its as impossible as people say it is. I have gone over everything that needs to be done and all i relaly need to fabricate is dash mounts (swap entire dash), engine mounts and a custom driveshaft. The only problem I forsee is the powerplant frame. I have not tried to fit this yet.

alright, you gotta keep us informed about that. It would be fast as hell. It's just a pain in the butt to do all the modifications to get it in there. Do you know if the wiring is much more difficult because it's a different company?

all i can say in Japanese is Ganbatte yoand Arigato gozaimasu for the info LOL

oh wait wasn't supposed to say this while I met you?Hajime ma****a Dozo yoroshiku...?

What, 13b in a 240? Psshhhh, 2 rotors = waste of time... I say go for the 20b in a 240. 3 rotor twin turbo is where it. Go 4 rotor if you want to play with the big boys. :D

JK, that sounds like an interesting swap. Wouldn't that make the 240 lighter than an rx-7? Hmmmm. Keep us informed.

You know..... it's fun to toss these engine swap ideas around.... but realistically it is pointless. Unless you get the engine for free, and haven't got an RX-7 laying around to throw it into.... then maybe. But still, unless you fabricate everything yourself, get the engine for free, and have all kinds of time and know-how.... you'd be better off with an RX! It's a better car, and for the money you would save by NOT putting it into a 240, you could really build the hell out of it!

Dont take this the wrong way, but why bother. Why would you want a 13b in a 240 when you could have an sr20 or ca18. The 13b-rew only makes 255 at the crank.

If you are gonna do a swap that is gonna take this much fabrication, put in an RB26.

It would be okay if you are gonna get a built 13b from Atkins or Pineapple. Or a 20b, which will cost you around $10,000 to $15,000 to do properly (or have someone do).

Way too much money IMO.

PS : I have a blown up 2nd Gen RX7 if your interested.

To the guy that has met the dude that has done the 13B swap is there anyway you can get ahold of him for me? I am planning on doing this swap soon and would like to talk to him about motor mounts. I heard he lives in Orlando which is about a 2 hour drive from here in Jacksonville.Ryan

that would be sweet until it blows up. theres a reason why 99.999% of cars have piston motors. not to be cynical or anything, i would love to have an FD, but i would save up like 5k extra before i bought one so i could keep it running.

That would be pretty cool. The only reason i would do that is if it were around the same price as an SR or RB swap. Other than cool points i dont think it would have that much of an advantage over the other engines. If ur going for cool points and more hp id love nothing more than to see a VG30DETT in a 240http://www.meggala.com/hybrid/hyb5.jpg (VG30DET in S13)

You have an FD with a blown motor? If so, e-mail me at: [email protected]

I would have PMed or e-mail you...but none of those features work.

The rotary gets a bad rap, once you figure out their idiosyncracies they are reliable. I have two rotorhead buddies who squeeze over 500hp out of their spirograph-mills, a 13B and 20B and have yet to meet a CA or SR or RB26 they can't take out. I will have to sell my RX7 when it's done to finance my R30 but I'm keeping the bridgeport motor that's in it right now just in case;)

2nd gen is an FC, exactly what the 13b belongs in, but if you have the money to waste, throw it in an S13.... :rolleyes

damnit! I forget to include the SA22 RX-7 :pface thanks for that bit of info.

oh wells....it would have been nice to have a FD with no motor for a cheap price.

To response to this topic...its a waste of money IMO to drop in any RX-7 motor into a 240SX. It has been done before...but as you already know..someone has a SR in a RX-7 (FD).
