I wonder...
Wuss. I run while it's snowing out. Get yourself some nice Cold Gear Under Armour top and bottoms and go for a run.frapjap wrote: and it is becoming to cold to keep at it.
Despite the weather yesterday, I had a long enough break to do some running. I ran for about 3 miles, didn't time myself or anything. It felt good to get back out there. I swear, before the year is over, I'm going to run a mile in under 5 minutes93coupe wrote:I was going to say I'd run with you sometime but I can't compete with your freakish sub six minute miles.
Wow, I checked out some of those shoes and the 1011's look like they may work pretty good for me.LEMHEAD16 wrote:Check out Newbalance.com or NBwebexpress.com or go to a local retailer that sells high end running shoes (not kohls, famous footwear, ....) Let me know what you are interested in by email and I will significantly beat any advertised price for NICO members.
Keep in mind that I am an "Elite" dealer and sell the high end new balance models. I can't get anything under the "600" series as they are low-tech shoes made for "Big Box" retailers.
I'm flat footed so I need good stability/motion control, but weigh 175lbs. Should I look for another shoe?LEMHEAD16 wrote:1011's are awesome, I wear them everyday. They are really designed for a larger frame runner who needs some motion control.
email me if you are interested, cost would be well below $100 + shipping
Thanks for the advice. I will check them out, get sizes and prices and let you know...by email that is.LEMHEAD16 wrote:1011 would be a decent choice for you although a lighter weight alternative would be the 850 or 1225
I ride my bike alot also, I still like running though.ScorchedNX2K wrote:I ran for four years for Varsity 400m, 200m and 800m relay in High School. Then my Dad (RIP) gave me his bike and I never looked back. I do about 100miles a week just for fun. 140+ if I'm training for something. Much easier on your joints and I just do crunches after the ride to make up for the lack of core excercise associated with cycling.Runners are silly
Back in my racing days (MTB), I would run and bike. Usually I'd go out for a run, jump in the pool to cool off a bit (summer afternoons in KS are pretty warm), change clothes, fill up the water bottles and then go for a ride. I think the longest day I ever put in was about 4mi (hilly) run and 40mi (hilly) ride...that was a decade ago though.ScorchedNX2K wrote:I ran for four years for Varsity 400m, 200m and 800m relay in High School. What is an Adidas Asics? Both of those words are independent brands...S13_love wrote:Woohoo! I finally got around to buying a new pair of running shoes...I ended up getting a pair of Adidas Asics. Can't wait to try these out this weekend.
