Is there a way to run 4-point harnesses without getting a rollbar. I have an S13 Fastback, thanks!

Yes there is. Just bolt it up.

Only downside is that since you cant bend at all in a harness your head becomes the main support when you roll over and the roof caves in :) This is okay if you have a mild steel skull and spine though hehehe. If not well your head will be between your shoulders and your spine will be crushed rather nicely, afterwards :)

Cage then harness, best if installed at the same time. But never harness before cage.

Grrrr..... I ordered a race seat cuzz my driver's seat is broken and I am gettin sick of the one seat setup. I was thinkin on gettin some harnesses, but I dont really want a cage. I only like how they look in a gutted car (my old crx). Meh, anyone got pics of a 240 with full interior and roll bar :( ?

i like your aproach of putting in racing seats, 4 point harness. Oh wait sohc auto. Ouch. stay in school and dont do rice. Even if your front seat is broken i went to the wreckers and saw plenty of replacements in fine condition, at much less cost.

Most J-spec four point harnesses bolt down in the rear to you stock rear seat belt points, front to the stock front seat lap belt points

I think I still have to report to the local authorities when I move into a new neighborhood.

He just asked if it was possible to run one sans cage hehe

I mean it is possible, "IF" you dont mind all those nasty things happening when you roll over. Some people may not care, and we really dont need those kind of people reproducing anyway hehe.

You callin me a ricer? I know my sh!tter is slow and automatic, but one day I'll need a nice seat, so why not take advantage of the opportunity? Why spend $100-200 (or more) on something that I will just swap out later. So shaddup, I was asking for *helpful* advice :slap Thanks EVERYONE else :rolleyes

100-200 dollars for an S13 seat? did you go to a dealership for this price? Why WASTE the money on a seat when you could put that money toward something more important, like a swap/manual transmission?

89 was calling you a ricer, and I second that...

http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....=5931 Peep where you're head would be if you had a raceseat/harness.

as long as you fully intend to continue modifying towards something fast and I don't hear things like "razo pedal covers" or "black lights and strobes" I call no rice. Tread lightly young jedi, things like stickers, dubs, these lead to the dark side!

OK i really don't think that racing seats are rice at all, i mean the stock seats are better than a lot of the other bucket seats out there support-wise, but if you got any real racing seat, which means not anything by cheap companies like dad, arospeed, R-1, or anything like that, you would experience a much better ***-plant while cornering and such. If I went to j-spec.com and got those $4000 recaro tomcats, would that be rice?

You calling Bride Zeta's rice? I am planning on doing an SR20 swap this summer, and most likely tracking the car as well. So enough with the rice talk, I am not a newbie to imports, just a newbie to 240's.

Well I don't know you tell me....There is a Honda Civic hatchback in my town with a carbon fiber hood, two race seats...stock steel wheels, stock motor, stock ride height, no exhaust. This looks ridiculious to me...Like trying to get my dad to rock a CF hood on his Solara. I guess you may not consider it rice, but it looks a little foolish all the same. But if you are doing what you said you are doing, go for it.

Bride Zeta's aren't rice, just expensive.

I wonder why no one mentioned this, but you should look into getting a five point harness over a 4 four point. A 5pt will have a sub-belt (the one that goes between your legs). Incase of a severe front end accident, you can slide foward in your harness without one. If you have a four point, it could possibly leave you in a choking position.I know it's a stretch, but saving the money on a 4pt over a 5pt isnt worth it to me. I would rather rock the stock belts than a 4pt, and just use the dead pedal to keep myself in the seat.

your just putting your prioritys in the wrong place. Rice is going flashy without go (sometimes even with) and thats what your doing now...im sure if you talk to any guy with a huge spoiler and recaro seats in his civic, hes talking about his plans for a B swap in the next millenium...100-200 is a little much for stock replacements, mabey cause you talked to a dealer instead of a salvager. But I know for sure that if i walked by your car with the race seats, peered inside to see its an auto, i would have a nice laugh.

i'm also surprised that no one has mentioned the fact that if the angle of the shoulder harnesses going over your shoulders and down behind the seat is too steep that you will compress your spine in the event of an accident.

don't make your parents feed you with a straw for the rest of your life. there are manufacturers out there that make removable harness bars to fit most any car imaginable.

and don't get a crappy four point... go 5 point (as mentioned above)

89sxRCR, I would also laugh if a car had a race seat and a stock motor in it.... o well, its not rice if it serves a function, and thats to hold my *** in a seat. O yea, good idea on the 5-points... I'll get em. I know ya'll will hate, but I'mma order myself some Takata's in 2 weeks once the seat comes in :help

i had bad seats in my car when i bought it, the previous owner was a little heavy, and i went to a junk yard, found a s14 and picked the buckets out for 50$ a piece, 100$ for 2 seats isnt bad, plus i like em way better than the s13 seats.

Has anyone put SE-R 91-94 Seats in a s13? I loved those seats when I had my classic. Also do s14 seats come leather?

Rice, not rice, who cares? People express themselves through their cars and nobody's "style" is any better or worse than anybody else's. I think the rash of GT wings, shift lite tachs and carbon fiber anything is rather stupid. I don't hate on these people, I just laugh. By the same token they laugh at my NA Silvia with the rollcage, racing belts, stripped interior and cadre of guages. Everything I do to a car is for a purpose, safety or power production, some think that is a fool's exercise, they would rather embrace Bling or curb appeal. That's fine, live and let live. Now when one of these guys steps up to me at a light that's when i have to pound them down like a bent nail. I wouldn't expect some bimbo to walk past a riced out Honda to get in my spartan battlewagon, I don't have AC or even a stereo, but I understand and accept that. To pull away from the curb in a riced out anything, hell a camaro even, with 1000lbs of stereo and lights and expect to walk a lightweight purpose built race car is unforgivable. Build your car for a purpose but stick to it.Do what you want with your car and tell anyone who doesn't like it to kiss your ***, they don't make the payments, they can keep their opinions to themselves.

as I said, it isn't important whether I like it or not, it's your car and you have the right to do whatever you want to it. If you like it, do it and have fun.

so I'm a clown like i'm here to amuse you? I want a carbon fiber hood for my old Skyline but $900.00 is a lot of money that could be better served elsewhere on the car.
