I then found this pick of the hockey pucks vs. Nismo mounts. According to this pic, 2.5" should be fine to fit Nismo mounts.

EDIT: And if the Nismo's are too tall, the hockey puck method is easy and cheap.
You guys are crazy, hockey pucks are for body lifts! lol

So you pretty much get the radius of each puck and drill right through it huh???

All regulation pucks should be the same height: 1"

Cool, that's reassuring. What isolators are you using with the kit?

Cool, cool. I'll be using my Nismo isolators. Mine should be here soon, and yeah, RB25. The guy I'm getting to install it will know what to do.

Just an update. Motor is finally in and Nismo KA mounts + ruckus-racing mounts = too tall for hood to close. They raised the rear of the hood up, like some people do for the "cooling mod". I tried some volvo mounts, but they weren't tall enough and resulted in the mount bracket to not sit evenly on the top of the mount = no no.

I'll try some e30 mounts and/or flexane 94 custom method and/or hockey puck method. It's cold now, so I can't do too much without a garage...I wish I knew for certain which would work correctly so I could do it one time only.

Cold in Atlanta?! Are you serious? If it is above freezing, you can work on the car outside if you bundle up real well.

lol! I live in apartments, and I don't get home until it's basically about to get dark. Lately, it's been in the mid to upper 20s - lower 30s at night.

ive had my swap in now for about 5 months and noticed that with the ruckus mounts, and hockey pucks the oil pan rubs the swap bar. After being tightened the pucks kinda compresses a bit. Im not happy with it so ill be ordering some solid insulators. Plus my dp is rubbing the steering shaft. Im hoping that if I get the insulators that I spoke about before that the extra.5 inches will allow the dp elbow to clear the shaft.

dftsilvia wrote:well guys i got my ruckus mount kit fully installed and all my major components on her. the sway clears for days its not even close to hitting anything which is real sweet! i had to grind prolly a 1/16 of an inch off my turbo elbow to get some extra clearance, which took all of 2 minutes, and my greddy skyline downpipe that i got from a friend bolted right up to my apexi cat-back! i will get pics shortly. i will take a pic of how much i had to grind the elbow on my lunch break cuz i have to burn out a broken stud
Did it bolt right up without a test pipe?

My hood didn't close with these. I had to raise the rear up about 1 inch.

Zerolift Autolab recently bought the rights to the ruckus-racing mount kit, and modded the original ruckus-racing mounts (regular KA mounts) + modded for Nismo KA mounts (wasn't taken into account for the original ones). He sent me the Nismo customized motor brackets and everything fit (no sway bar spacers needed, hood closed). I'm not sure if they will just sell the motor brackets seperately, since I was basically the 2nd test mule besides the car used for fabbing them.

Hmmm, a semi retired thread... I'll post my review up though.Ruckus racing mounts are OK, but i think its worth the money for the name brand. I ran into the issue of the hood not closing when used the KA mounts so I made some custom solid steel ones. After I installed the RB i notice that when i let off the throttle the plates BEND like a piece of spaghetti. So i had to weld away at them in order to make the sturdy. The flat plate that comes out for the mount is way too weak. I also have a silvia front conversion. This is fine until I upgrade the turbo and manifold. All I have done to the motor is a rebuild, CP forged pistons, new intake, .60 AR turbo W/ top mount manifold, MLS head gasket, N1 oil pump, FMIC (2.75 piping), head port & polished, greddy timing belt, along with the small things.
