I changed my starter(2007 versa) the other day and pulled out about 4 pieces of what looks like rubber boot material out of well where the starter bolts into. Im wondering what it could be from and how worried I should be. All together its about 4 sq. inches ripped into 3 or 4 pieces.

Hi and welcome to NICO Club. Your wires should have a rubber boot on them. Check out this video and see the boots and if that's what you're talking about. Write back and let us know if that's it or not and we'll look further for you.

No, the wire boots are there, this is something else. I'm wondering if its a slave cylinder boot, Could that be possible?

Sure, its possible. How about a picture? Puzzle the pieces back together and what do you get? Did you pull it out of the hole the starter gear goes into and where the flywheel is? Did you pull it out of the mount location on the block? What do you mean when describing where it came from please.
