so, usless thread i know, but for all those of you who bash Rota wheels for being knockoff's and junk, i found this funny

http://www.amsperformance.com/ams_dragevo.php

look under the suspension/wheels/tires area

i just thought it was funny that AMS performance uses Rota wheels on their drag Evo, out of hundreds of other options and "Better" wheel choices out there, they chose Rota wheels for their 1100whp track car, a car that reaches 170mph, and dont give me any of that crap that the wheels dont matter because they are only going in a straight line, the fact is that they were chosen above others, yes knockoff's....

they're designs might not be original, but rotas are nowhere near as bad as people make them out to be.

I think people think they are bad because they see pics of broken rotas, not realizing that most of those wheels were probably powder-coated by dumb idiots. NEVER powder coat wheels!

haha this thread made my day. because i have rotas!

since this thread is about wheels did you know that if you own a buggati veyron you have to change the tires every 10,000 miles and the wheels every 30,000. for a new tire/rim setup it costs 72,000! i found that interesting

I have bronze off-road rota wheels and they hold up very well. My car just slid into a ditch at about 80mph, had to be pulled out by the rim, and the wheels are still in great shape. I think that says something for their quality.

i heard some people saying the p45r's aka nismo LMGT4 knockoffs crack but many many many subies, evo's, 240's run them now without any problems.

I wouldn't mind getting myself a set of bronze p45r's

yeah but there is nothing "honda" about low offset 17's and 18's

The thing I like about the rotas is the fact that you can get pretty low offsets on some of their wheels. The USDM nismo LMGT4's only come in a +30 or +35 offset and they are about 800-1000 for a set. The JDM ones have much lower offset but we all know the story with getting wheels from japan, expensive and time consuming. The p45r's are made in a +12 offset which is the lowest i've seen and they are about 6-800 a set brand new.

I usually prefer the Hyper Black color, but a red car like yours would look great with the Royal Sports Bronze's or the Royal Gold.

Everyone sack rides the P45R's, but lets not forget that Grids are now available in 18x10...

Grid and P45R are the only ones I like out of all the ROTA, I used to own a set of 18x9.5 of P45R myself and I liked 'em, if you ever go to the Evo's forums you will see a lot of those guys run P45R.

couldnt agree more. whats the offset on those grids on the impreza. i'd much rather have 8 x 10 grid with a good offset than my p45r's.

They are +35 and they are 5x114.3 only. Perfect for 240 fitment in the back only, I'd say. Not even Wheeldude.com has the 18x10's, but he has the 18x9.5+20. Here's the only place that I know they are sold: http://www.machiii.net/wheels/grid.html

I'm planning to get some for my s13 and run this setup in hyper black:17x9+25 P45R upfront 245/4018x10+35 Grid out back 255/35

I think that would be sick...

18x10 +35 in the back? Are you talking about an S14 here, cause I can not see this happening on a S13.

I've seen enough drifting on Rotas out here in Sac none have ever broken and I would imagine that would be putting alot of stress on them. I've noticed alot of the pics I've seen of the rotas are generally on honda and acuras. Also it was the same rim, so possilbe 1 rim produced had some defects?!?

I've never had a problem with Rota. And plus, I picked up a Modified Magazine today with the 'Tuner Shootout' article... The winner was the GST Impreza L rocking Gold P45R's and Wheeldude.com stickers...

Oh ye of little knowledge... the 18x10+35 should be about 9mm more flush than this:

I drift on Rotas. I also go offroading a lot because I like spinning out. My wheels are fine.

I like those 18x10 grids though.
