if the battery isn't tied down, I guarantee it will start to leak. There are far too many vibrations that will go through it from running over bad road, bumps..etc. The battery MUST be tied down. There is no need for vent hoses with these boxes, the holes where the postive and negative wires run are venting it enough.

a distribution block in this case lets you deliver power to the starter and the alternator plus connect the old and new power wires without splicing and crap.

btw, i work construction and the electritions always throw away 1 and 2 gauge oil and gas resistant wire, yay me. my total cost is $26!

hmm once i fix the rust hole my battery location kit is sitting on/in ill have to get one of them boxes and move it over to the passenger side since my drivers side will be all fiberglass or maybe sheet metal if i get enough to have it done properly

I'm going to head over to radioshack and see if they have any wiring kits that will work for this. Would anyone like to explain to me why ou need 20' of positive and only 3' of negative wire?

positive wire has to go all the way to the engine bay, negative only needs to go to the closest point where you can ground it to the chassis. Usually, less than 3 ft. :D

Well, don't bother radioshack people, they don't own any 1 or 2 gauge wires. Looks like I'm going to have to sneak over to a construction site and steal some wiring from houses. =)
