My neighbor let me ride with him in his Honda Hatchback. He put in a B18 engine and a bunch of other mods. He stripped it out and is making it look nice. He hasnt even gotten it tuned yet. We got to talking and we ended up going for a ride :) . Sadly it made me think about getting a honda to put that engine in it. IT was FAST!!!. IT would put you in your seat and make you stay there.

I dont really know the full potential of the 240 due to the fact my compression is low and my engine boggles down at 4k. My setup will be the KA-T and was wondering can the KA-T keep up with with the B18 that is fixed up really good.

yeah---b18s are fast, but a turbo will own one everytime. b18s make good numbers and run well--but they dont have alot of torque. Thats just honda though. get a ka-t running good even at a decent 7 lbs--youll own your neighbor for sure--just make sure he doesnt spray. Then you may have a good race on your hands.

I dont know if its a B18C or B18C5. Is there a way to tell by just looking at it. There is a guy in a red honda that has one that is supposed to be the fasted guy in my area, (hence not a lot of 240s around here, More ricers than stangs) he put in the B18 and just put tons of money into it.

He told me he was going all engine, no Nitrous. Im going to fix up the engine with all new internals top and bottom end. then in about a year I will have enough saved up for the Turbo (hopefully :xfingers )

The one I rode in was mad fast and he revved it pretty high, 8500 or so. It was loud too. He didnt even have the instument clusters in he used one for his old integra so we knew the rpms but no MPH. it will be awesome when he gets it tuned and all the interior back in. Now a guy across the street from he got himself a Rx-7 and is rebuilding that, my other neighbor is building a 77 chevy hot rodder. I thought about getting a 1980 Trans Am as a second car, just cause I love the sound of them.

i had a 93civic hatch w/b18c1 in it as a beater for a few years.it was really fun.felt fast just didn't perform at the track or anything.best i could do was 14.5.it had cheesy suspension and weak tires.so maybe it woulda done better but nevertheless it was a fun car.i just wouldn't be happy if it was my only car.

my friends brother put a B18C5 in his 92 hatchback, and a B16A in his CRX, both were "quick" but nothing compared to my neighbors SR powered 93 S13

Give credit where it's due. Honda-hating without reason is noobish.

Nissan and Honda is like Rangers vs. Islanders in hockey, two very good teams but yet cant stand each other!

:)

I think it was a good explanation!

What i dont understand, if you all like hondas so much, how come you all have a 240??????

Stock SR can run in 13's on a good day maybe just with little modification, I dont see any civic that can run 13s on a stock turbo

I speak from experience too, im not just talking out of my ***, Im at racetracks few times a weeks and its pretty much dominatedby hondas, If you only knew how much money it takes for a Honda to run 13's

And as i said before my S14 with a KA stock can run in high 15's, a stock honda ecept a Type R all run high 16's even 17's. i ran against a stock Type R which ran a 14.9 constant. And dont forget a KA has only 155hp

Sorry all, if im being a blunt but I just really have a BAD DAY!

:(

What you need is an NX2000 or SE-R with the SR20VE swap. Then show him what it means to have torque and midrange power along with a better "V-Tech" system.

go to http://www.cheesefrog.com if you want to see fast hondas.one of these civics has more that 500 horsepower. I am not a big honda fan but the b18c5 in a CRX with a turbo scares me...

I don't know if it's a matter of liking Honda so much as it is a matter of respecting what other people driving other cars have been able to do. Beyond that, I don't see it as an "either-or" situation... I mean, asking a question like that is like asking, "If all you guys like going fast, why don't you own sportbikes?" There are MANY reasons for owning a 240sx instead of (insert car here), but that doesn't mean you can't appreciate other cars.

We talk at length on these boards about Hondas... their weaknesses and strengths, but mostly their weaknesses. I think we ought to show at least a little respect for those drivers, bandwagoning or not, who overcome those weaknesses.

OMG dont talk about putting type-r into crx. why? into that case you are talking about putting rb26dett into 240sx. whos thinks that rb26dett is not scary in 240sx ? it'll woop honda any day.

look for it on the block, if you're standing in front of the car, it should be on the left hand side of the block facing you. should say either B18A, B18B, B18C1, B18C5

i have a gsr and to fix the torque problem i was gonna swap blocks and use a B20B block (2.0 liters) and that would bump up the torque from 128 to about 150. but then i got a 240 and said bye bye to fixin up my integra :D

I remember riding in my friend's late 90's Civic hatch with the B18C5 (JDM Type R motor) and I remember it being fairly quick with the ability to rev to around 9k. Very smooth motor.

Nevertheless, I was still more impressed the first time I rode in an SR'd 240 for the first time. Just something about turbos...

i raced a hatch with a ls vtec in it with my sr'd 240 at stock boost and that little pos kept up. i beat him at the end but i was surprised. I gave the guy a fellow car enthusiast nod.

my dads neighbor in his apartment complex has a 91' crx with a fully rebuilt H22A and a turbonetics custom turbo, gutted interio etc etc etc, he said he used to have a crx with a B18C5 and that his h22a is quicker, but he said with the B18 he was able to run down a lot of powerful cars. he showed me a dyno sheet he had and it was somewhere( its been a while) around liek 402fwhp im probably off a few but thats impressive

I dunno about that, they are pretty different looking to me. Ones very bubbly/rounded and the others a more blocky look. I have a white NX2k, my friends got a 20valve white AE86, they dont compare on any level.
