Well, I guess I am the "Old Man".... Lived through the 1960s riots and a lot more.... 33 years military and four wars... Don't know what went down, but willing to let the investigation run its course. Saw the same BS after Katrina.... Don't know what the violence will solve. Don't know what the looting will solve. But I do know, that it is disrespectful to the dead.... Then again, stealing a box of cigars, and loosing your life for it seems pretty damn strange.

I live in MO and have lots of friends and family in the STL area, so I get quite a lot of news about this via social media. While I take most of it with a grain of salt, it should be noted that there are conflicting reports on whether or not the victim was shot in the back with his hands up (as the protestors claim) or from the front as he moved aggressively toward the officer. More recent eyewitness accounts tend to support the latter explaination.

Basically a bunch of idiots just wanted an excuse to act out and they figured a black kid shot by a white cop was good enough.

BREAKING NEWS...
Missouri cop was badly beaten before shooting Michael Brown, says source
Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Mo., police officer whose fatal shooting of Michael Brown touched off more than a week of demonstrations, suffered severe facial injuries, including an orbital (eye socket) fracture, and was nearly beaten unconscious by Brown moments before firing his gun, a source close to the department's top brass told FoxNews.com.

“The Assistant (Police) Chief took him to the hospital, his face all swollen on one side,” said the insider. “He was beaten very severely.”

The DOJ is manipulating this.

"Expert" who at the press conference claimed Brown was shot with his hands up turned out to be a phony. Claimed Dr Young trained him.

Dr Young responded:

I'm not taking a side on the shooting (investigation is pending, new info comes out daily) but a bunch of nutbags latching on to a tragedy.

I drove up to Ferguson last night for the first time in a decade as the sun was setting. The town is actually nicer than it used to be. Unfortunately, the situation was very intense. Police had checkpoints set up, streets blocked off, and mobs of people were marching up and down the street.

After walking and driving around for a bit I got the hell out of there. The news crews were setting up their cameras as the sunlight faded.

So another fun tidbit, this one from KY3 news. Evidently out of 163 arrests made in Ferguson this week, only 7 of the people actually lived in Ferguson. Hey why loot in your own town right?

Is it really a DOJ manipulation or is it more a case of both the media and protesters like Al Sharpton running with the story before both sides of the story were known. Perhaps it's a little of all 3.

Definitely all 3. However, I don't pay Al Sharpton or the media with my taxes.

Who, if not Holder, could manipulate the release of the officer being attacked to the point that his face was fractured? The Gov maybe, he obviously has a hard on for out of control statements that incite rage and violence. Perhaps he will be the person fingered when the dust clears. Scape goat...nothing more imho.

Left work at about 10:30pm tonight. Helped some coworkers who were heading home toward the city map out quiet alternate routes home since protestors were blocking main thoroughfares and sections of interstate.

What a mess.

America is thunderdome and there's no way I would bring people I care about back to that place. I'm never coming back and that makes me really sad.

The evidence doesn't matter. This is America, land of the opinion, home of the anger.
