I'm sure that won't be a problem. Let's see where it goes.

I agree with the FOP's concern that a personal relationship with the Gray's attorney and the fact her husband is a local politician could present possible conflicts of interest for the assigned state's attorney. And perhaps a special prosecutor might be a wise route, considering the volatility of the case. It also would not alter the legal process. But as a typical guy, my question is, did anyone else notice the state's attorney is kinda cute?

I"m just wondering how this is 'whitey's' fault with a black Chief of Police and a black female Mayor. What part of that system is biased against them? I don't see the argument. I grew up poor with no money for college and no job skills. I enlisted.

I agree with the need for a special prosecutor, not necessarily because I suspect corruption, but to keep the politics out of a highly politicized case.

The lynch mob mentality is horrifying.

Baltimore's mayor: Spike in crime 'disheartening'

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake called the city's recent spike in violence “disheartening” Thursday as police work to address a dramatic increase in homicides and nonfatal shootings.

“It’s extremely frustrating,” the mayor told reporters at a news conference. “It is disheartening, but I am still resolved to continue to reduce violent crime in our city.”

Rawlings-Blake said the city’s faced spikes in crimes in the past and police have been able to successfully reverse them. She said she’s “confident” police will do so again.

The city has experienced 100 homicides this year, compared with 71 at this time last year, the police department said. It's the fastest the city has reached 100 homicides since 2007. Last year, the city reached the mark on July 4. Nonfatal shootings are up more than 70 percent with at least 19 people shot on Tuesday and Wednesday.

side note: i was down there on a prisoner extradition, back in 2006ish; and i couldn't believe:
1. the thousands of boarded up row homes. block after block, after block.
2. the blue strobe lights on the light posts (gunshot sensors & camera's)
3. the amount of street walkers(males & female) and stoop sitters at 2am, midweek/work night). job anyone?
4. the thuggery and downright unprofessional jail staff(correctional officer and administration). i was the only white face in the joint, and even the correctional officers were laughing at me(from the jokes the inmates in the holding cells were cracking).
