will rota grid's 16 by 8. with a 10 offset clear z brakes? and will works 17 by 9.5 with a 17 offset clear them either?

You fail, there are 16 inch wheels that clear Z brakes, its not the diameter of the wheel that causes clearance issues, its the offset. Please do not spread misinformation.

I just know my 17's barely clear my calipers top to bottom. I'm saying that it would be almost impossible to get 16's on the car to even see if they'll clear the backside of the face of the wheel.-fuse.

Factory S14 SE 16 inch alloys will clear Z brakes. It can be done.
