A day in the life of an autocrosser... or something...

Step 1: Wake up early.... so you can show up to the track as the sun rises... consume red bull

Image

Step 2: Unload all your s***... consume red bull

Image

Step 3: Attach grip, go-fast stickers and remove all unnecessary objects from car.... consume red bull

Image

Step 4: Look at other ridiculous cars........ like this supercharged miata running the largest rear wing and splitter allowed by the SSM class rules

Image

Step 5: Do coursewalks... and register and all that boring stuff

Step 6: Race!

Step 7: Take videos for NICO

This is the first run of the day. Cold tires? Yep... How about a little drifting and stuff on some 275/35/15 Hoosier A6's?

This is my fastest run of the day, but still +1 cone... these days happen I suppose... you'll see the one I hit near the finish

Step 8: Assess any damage... snap some more pics

Image

Step 9: Decide you need overfenders.... NAO! Coming over the crest before the finish unloads the suspension... then it slams back down while under cornering load... the result?

I can't believe you drive a truck doing this crap. You can see right where it hits in the vid.

Well anyway, I gotta say that the way the cones are done makes my head spin. I don't know how you can figure out where to go.

What's the A6 look like? Earlier this year, I had a nice bite taken out of a V710 before I chopped my fenders.

I gotta stop reading these kind of threads...I can't really work my right arm well enough to drive the Civic right now...much less poorly at the local event.

I get need to get out and beat on the rally car soon, or I think Im going to go nuts. Maybe I should just throw some summer tires on it, and go to an autocross.

Looks like you were having some fun.

If you had the same setup except in a regular cab how do you think you would do compared to what you are doing now?

Why does it sound like your truck is quacking like a duck when when you start and end the laps? Are the synchros starting to go in the trans so you have to grind it a little to get in and out of first or am i missing something. besides that the truck sounds good and moves like a greased pig at a bacon factory, is that a stock KA-E or did you work over the motor a little? Sorry I've read about your truck like 9 million times and I can't remember what you're running with, just that you use some obnoxiously wide wheels on a relatively small diameter rim.

a regular cab would seem more ideal considering all the weight is more centralized... but i think besides the few extra lbs. it adds, the x-cab suits my driving style a little more. who knows though :gotme

it sounds like that because something is rattling in the cab... it's a metal on metal noise... its funny though because its 10x worse on the camera... you barely notice it in person

the engine is a pre-KA... lol... it's the Z24... the bet way to describe it is a KA-E.... but carbureted

and yes... the wheels are obnoxiously wide and small diameter.... 15x10's with 275/35/15 hoosier A6's

That quality lube you sell looks to be treating your engine well!

Nice vidz! All you need now is an obnoxious wing like that Miata!
