Judging from the replies from the Caliper Cover thread. Yes, it would.

If you have Nismo parts or components, then no.

If you do not, IMO, yes.

But like SHIFT_COUPE said, its your car do what makes you happy. Dont let other people's opinions influence you.

No nismo parts, no badge :nono: lol

I have a badge on my c-mod, mainly because the grille is rather plain.

But I have nismo stuffs, cat-back and gunmetal 19" :naughty:

Soooo question: When do WE, as a community, cross the line of the "its you're car do what you want" phrase? If that were the case there wouldn't be a rant in the (snicker) fake caliper thread.

True it is their car, but I think giving them heads up about what they are getting should be ok. I suppose in this case of the nismo badge, its not a huge deal. I agree, it makes sense to put a Nismo badge if you have something nismo. Otherwise why bother? Thats like putting a K&N sticker on a car that doesn't have K&N intake.

Ya, I mostly agree with you guys. The Nismo badge makes sense for people with Nismo parts. I just thought it might be a nice touch.

I actually have a K&N intake, haven't decided if I want to put one of the stickers on yet lol.

I just got some badges. I put some NISMO stickers on my rim's to freshen them up (Official one's from the dealership, cuz they come with a 1 year warrantee and i did not want to risk fading from the e-bay ones). and I don't like the whole NISMO graphics kit but i liked the logo on the hood next to the headlight so i put one there. The way i see it, the badges cost me like $12. That's not a lot compared to the $200 plastic covers (that i'm assuming decrease the performance, since air can't cool the breaks as easy).

Also, I want a NISMO intake.... still in development. I want NISMO rim's... non for the A/C, i would have to get 4 front 370 wheels at about 1k per wheel. :wtf2: I think i heard they stopped production the NISMO exhaust for the 3.5 so that's out of the picture. and what about some NISMO suspension? the 02's-06's had NISMO sway bars. and idk if i remember correctly but i think they also had a NISMO strut bar!

So Nissan isn't really making this easy.
(and i like what NISMO stands for "Nissan Motorsports International")

Thats exactly what I did. Gave a heads up that it was "Rice" as requested and then said do what you want. In the end no one should listen to me if its something they really want to do. Ill shut down Plastidip in a thread every chance I get, but if someone wants to use it on their car go for it. Its not my ride, Im not the one who is going to get flamed for it.

Oh I know, I wasn't saying you DIDN"T do that. I'm just saying for those who beg to differ, I think telling them what they're getting into, like I even do, is ok :)

I had a Nismo license plate frame on my car before a semi launched a 2'x2' piece of dry wall on the freeway, which I hit head on. Luckily no damage to my bumper except for a few scratches, but the license plate frame was donezo. No Nismo parts on my car, though. I mean, NISMO = Nissan Motorsports, why shouldn't I be able to represent a brand/company that I'm a fan of, regardless of how many Nismo parts I have on my car?

^Im a fan of the GT-R. Would it be OK for me to put a GT-R badge on my front grille? Sure I could do it, but anyone who knows whats up is going to be like "WTF, that is an Altima Coupe, not a GT-R." NISMO is a brand/company that represents performance. If you dont have the performance to back it up, especially if you dont have their particular parts, its a no-go in my book.

Well that's different, cuz a GTR is an entirely different car, while Nismo is just a brand. Similar to putting a Tein, Recaro, etc sticker somewhere on your car. Doesn't really bother me, but everyone has a different opinion :)

I totally agree with DJBeasy....the essence of ricers if faking, exaggerating something they're not and being tacky about it in the process. Otherwise you'd just be Rep'ing what you have...as long as you keep it classy lol

I think its rice to even have a thread about this. But like I said, whether you have a Nismo lip, a nismo intake, nismo wheels, or even nismo tissue papers, and it comes with a little sticker or badge (like most products do) then feel free to represent. If you DONT have anything Nismo, whats the point? Its like putting a Takeda sticker on my car that doesnt have the Takeda intake or a Tein badge on a car thats not even lowered. Its rather misleading than rice, like false advertising.

And if you're gonna go with the notion of "well its my car and thats what matters" then go for it because I agree with that concept. But I would lock this thread if that were to be the conclusion.
