Speaking of inputs, did you happen to try what I said? I'm curious as to how it turned out...

Quote »Even though your coolant reservoir is full, the radiator may not be drawing the coolant from it for one reason or another (loose cap or leaky seal around water pump, for instance). Start the car cold with the radiator cap off, and let the engine warm to operating temperature. Once the thermostat opens up, see if there is coolant visibly flowing through the top tank. If not, first give it a couple small revs and see if you can see short rushes of coolant. If you still don't, carefully fill the radiator until you do. This is how I solved an overheating problem of mine when coolant was leaking from a hidden source.[/quote]

Dude, you're better off spending the 14k on a better looking 240...maybe an s14 or s13 coupe, sr20det and all other goodies.

That will be cheaper than fixing/covering the body damage.

Save the motor, and swap it in a different s13...

Fixing that qp and rocker will be expensive....but imho, i dont think that looks repairable.

Why are you buying a thermostat if you

This is probably your problem OR (read carefully) you have it in backwards. If it's not that and your rad fan works the system will need bled properly and then it's the water pump.Usually water pumps spew fluid when they're dying/dead.

Whats the point of "putting all the goodies in" if your getting a new shell? I wouldn't drop another penny into that thing.

Oh you pulled it out, sorry man that sucks. The only other culprits are the pump, bleeding it, or the rad fan not kicking on. (or like you said mayyyyyybe the rad is blocked ~19 yr old radiator)

Also if you're losing fluid it might be the heater core busted. GL

Hey man. I think that your back on track for your car. fix it up so that its acceptable to drive then swap it to a new shell. Im always all for someone bringing back a 240. kinda hurts to hear someone say "just scrap it" That would mean 1 more 240 in the junkyard. Good luck on it though man.

have YOU personally ever had to make that choice?

its not easy but sometimes its not worth the effort.

and if its parted or in a yard, you can use the parts

to OP, we sill need some dyno charts, pics and list of stuff for your 14k motor; cuz we arent buyin it

the ugly duckiling

i was going to sell her because she was overheating after i dumped about 14 k under the hood. im thinkin its overheating because the shop screwed me over and put a crummy ka radiator on it.

Step One: Koyo radiator with new hoses. anyone that reads this has one to sell let me know. ( FIX OVERHEAT ISSUE !! )

Step Two: overfenders for the rear. the previous owner decided to bondo a dent... so im gonna go a little cheap and throw on some overfenders...

Step Three : paint the ***** its been ugly for too long.. im bring the white ness back to the 240..

here are some pictures.engine rebuild ( NICE RODS ! )

so heres a question... cold my overheating problem be as simple as the radiator ?? i know the water pumps working, i know fluid is flowing...i tried the inclined open radiator trick but it didnt help

any other bright ideas? any buddy have another idea instead of overfenders ?

thanks for you time im excited to get back in !!!
What seems to be most unusual, is why you would claim to have put 14k into an engine, that is in a car that would fall apart if it had the power that 14k would give you. Also, the two pics of the car and the two pics of the engine arent taken with the same camera, and also the engine shots have getswapped.com embed into them. That isnt your engine, that is pics off of an engine site called getswapped.com. How can you claim that engine is yours????? Looks to me that you took some pics off of someones site and claimed them as your own.... How stupid do you think we are?

ok first offyes that is my motor being worked on, when george was owner of SCC, he had told me he put pics up on his website ( nearly a year ago ).you are apprantly really stupid..i have no reason to lie

http://www.southerncarcustoms....0.htm

thats my name jack a**, andrew pavlica, so is that good enough ? do i meet your expectations ?

i dont know how you want me to prove that it is my engine ???

also, im thourghly ( grammer ? ) embarressed that i paid all that money that i actually did pay, because they kept adding on parts, wish i had the paperwork to prove it. but i dont really need to prove a thing to you. i just wanted to res my 240 especially for all the ***holes that love to run their mouths. i cant believe that this forum has come to this. stop your s*** talking or we can find a place to meet up so i can shut your mouth for you.

drop the tough guy acts of trying to call me a liar n a bs'r etc.. its lame, its childish, and i find it unreasonable that i fought for this country for 2.5 years in iraq, although i guess your ignorance is blissyou welcome you undeserving scumrag.

hmm... the term is POG... standing for Person Other than Grunt... grunt is an outdated term standing for Ground Replacement UNTrained...

before you're going to insult someone, at least know what you're calling them.. grunts are nonexistant anymore... considering all 03s (infantry) are now trained before deploying... they use to ship them straight out of parris island and off to war... hence why where the crucible is, is an outdated landing strip... I have full respect for those that deploy but none for those who wanna try to use it as leverage when they're losing an argument... you, sir, can kiss my a**...

so we can sum up threads that ppl talk smack like this

your car is ghey, ur a liar

the person in defense-

says how we arent patriotic for not liking it cuz they served overseas.

how are they related?

your not going get sympathy from running off about the military; it was your choice to get into it, so dont complain to everyone about it

i have respect for blacksrjdm while he can come across as a d!ck, he doesnt shove his service record down our throats.

thanks buddy for all you have done for us!
