Many of you that are bitterly complaining on this thread, have been on the board for a while and are unaffected in many ways by what he does.

Again, you seem to be the only one that feels my contributions have been, in sum, negative.

Besides, your point is provably false. I have gotten into knock down, drag out flamefests with at least three or four of the people who supported me in that thread. Everyone else seems to understand that it's all in fun, why do you have such a hard time wrapping your head around this? yes he has contributed a lot with his FAQ, and thats worth a lot..

IMHO, the FAQ represented an extraordinarily minuscule portion of my contribution to this board. but how many times did we see newbies join, only to be attacked by him ad never come back??

Exactly twice, and "attack" isn't really an appropriate definition of my responses in those cases. I was also not alone in either of those situations.

The "controversy" was that you didn't want me to be a mod. As usual, you're projecting your own opinion onto others in an effort to give the impression of consensus where there was none.

This little tantrum of deleting his own contributions just because he stopped being a mod speaks for itself and shows we made the right descision.

If you had simply demoted me, I wouldn't have gone to the (considerable) trouble of deleting my posts. No, you instead chose to demote me unilaterally, without discussion, and without giving me the opportunity to defend myself. Further, until your last post in the 'k-car?' thread, you never even deigned to offer any commentary on the subject, let alone a personal explanation to me.

And that is why I deleted my posts.

And finally, yes, it wasnt suppsoed to go down as quick as this, Daunt was supposed to have been consulted, but a lot of other Mods and Admins,( some of whom had emailed with him about before, ) were clearly out of patience.

So, you've had a deluge of complaints regarding me over the past month or so, but you never once took a moment to mention them to me? Never a single "hey, don't do that", despite what you claim was vehement and recurring objection to my behavior?

K-Car, I agree with you on a lot of your points. I beleive you should have been warned (not that I know that you havn't been), and that the decision to revoke your status should have been more public (as you say it wasn't among moderators, but I think it still could have been an even more public decision: shouldnt it be us that are assumed to be suffering from your presence be the ones to make that decision?), but even still- I dont think (1) that you should have deleted all your posts, and (2) that you should consider this some sort of NICO ban.

You may have indeed wanted to strike back at Fred (or whoever), but you must realise that you've also hurt the community you claim so much dedication to. Taking back the posts WAS pretty childish, even if you were treated unfairly.

Second, just because you're not a mod anymore doesnt mean you cant contribute. To leave in a huff would be equally immature- and I beleive NICO itself would be worse for it.

You contributed a great deal to these forums, I have seen it myself. And while you were undoubtably.. abrasive.. at some points, you are certanly right in that your overall presence was invaluable.

Dont let some fit of anger (or whatever) ruin that with your (hopefully not) last actions here at NICO.

I for one support k car in his move. His deleting of his posts makes it apparent how much of a asset he is here in nico... I think it is important for the mods here to be in agreement when it comes to something like taking his mod status, and it seems to me fred was acting a little too much like GOD (like he always tries) in deciding whats best for everyone else. Closing threads to not talk about it makes it worse...

ok, so I read jsut about every fred, red, K-car, and prozac post I could find. I think I have a clue of what happened in which Aliens from Gamma Centuri landed in east Idaho, took 5 cows, turned them inside out and arranged them to look like the Beatles crossing Abby road. Then they want on Jerry Springer and beat up their earth lovers with rubber hoses. How any of this ties in with K-car...... I don't know.

I have been at a couple of sites that have had Mod's demoted and removed. It was a very simple process, some one accused them of being a witch and we tied them to a rock and threw them in the river. If they floated, they were a witch. If they didn't, we apologized to the next of kin. Then we got civilized and started using car batteries, a rubber glove, and aligator clips ( you do the math).

Unfortunately, the "community" that is this site is one and the same as the "enterprise" that is this site. See that banner up there, at the top of the page? They get paid for that.

Better content gives them more visitors, which gives them more page views, which increases the value of and the revenues generated by those advertisements. As I have a "thing" about people who are rude to me and my friends making money as a result of my efforts, I felt it was necessary to withdraw those efforts.

Whether or not their advertising revenues are currently covering their operating costs - and I suspect that they aren't - is irrelevant.

This was a unilateral decision, set into motion by Fred and confirmed by the other Infiniti owners. The 240 "community" had nothing to do with it.
