Replacing door pillars

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi all
I recently bought a 2010 EX35 (black on black) and am enjoying the car very much. I need to install a HID kit as the low beams are inadequate. Also the door pillar covers are beat up a bit on my car. Has anyone replaced theirs? I see aftermarket adhesive covers online, but I want to be sure it will look good.

This is the exact HID kit I bought for $49 and I love it so far. I had an ebay kit on my last car and I was constantly getting warranty replacements for ballasts, bulbs, and a relay. I did not use a relay on this car. I have only had it a month but I love the color and the brightness versus the stock bulbs. I did have to leave off some moisture-blocking caps from the original headlights, but I don't think it's an issue. I've seen no moisture build-up. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A8YX870/ref ... 00_TE_item

This $35 kit looks decent for the pillars. Though I cannot attest to the quality, just make sure you are willing to take the steps to return something if you are unhappy with it. And don't leave feedback for a couple weeks so you know what you have before you say how great the transaction went. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Pillar-Po ... 1269077812

Best of luck and welcome to the EX Club!

A good number of EX owners have installed HID kits on their cars. My wife was not happy with the headlight output of our EX with stock halogens, so I installed a kit as well.

Here are a few threads on the installations:

hid-wire-harness-retrofit-source-pictures-t590554.html
xenondepot-plug-n-play-hid-kit-install- ... 74204.html

The Morimoto HID kit from The Retrofit Source (http://www.theretrofitsource.com) seems to be the most popular here in the EX forum. DDM Tuning kits also appear to be pretty widely used by Nicoclub members. I myself went with the XenonDepot kit from KBcarstuff.com

You may not need to use a relay harness with the HID kit, but I installed one anyway to ensure a reliable source of power directly from the battery.

As far as HID kits go, I have Kensun brand HIDs in my EX. I am running the headlights without a relay harness and I am running the fog lights with a relay harness. Nice and bright and great output.

I use the OPT7 55w kit on all my cars, 5k looks OEM, 6K is superwhite, no harness.

For the pillars just buy some glass black vinyl and cover it, i know many dealership that does this.

I just want to say that I had problems with DDM Tuning on my mustang. I won't go with them ever again.
