I remember someone posting the specifics of installing a remote starter here several months back.

I thought it would be in the tutorial section but can't find it there.I tried searching but can't find it

Getting geared up to get this done, and thought I'd gather as much info together for the lucky sod that gets to install it for me.

Can anyone point me in the right direction???

Thanks in advance.

If you are having it installed at a reputable shop then they won't need your gathered information. A Versa is a really easy and straight forward vehicle to add remote start. The only part you will need is a immobilizer bypass module. There are 2 types, one of those forces you to lose one of your keys inside the module. This 1st type is the cheapest and most shops use a "DEI" product called a "556U". The 2nd type learns the RF signal of the key and stores it in memory. This type does not require you to lose a key but is more expensive. Most common module used would be a "By-pass Kit XK07".

Me and Clipsed both made a post about remote start in this thread. I install remote start systems for Best Buy. And my post is the same thing I have at work.

That was the one I remembered! Thanks!

The nearest dealer that installs the brand that I bought is a Ford dealership. So I want to make sure the guy know exactly which wire is which.

I'm not a big Ford fan and I really am loathe to take it there, but it is only a mile from where I work.

Which brand did you buy???

A dealership is the last place I would take it. That's not the kind of thing they specialize in.... even if you had a Ford. I would find a shop that installs at least 200 of these per year. That will show that they at least have the experience and some knowledge of remote starters. If you need to locate wiring info for the guy then that is bad news. Remote starter failures are generally because of the install. No matter how good the product is, it has to be installed correctly!
