I can't believe I found one, let alone in my price range.
The seller just wanted it gone and didn't know what it was.
It does need work and hasn't been driven regular for some time.
Frame and body for the most part are rust free, the usual at the bed thou.
It's dark teal with blue cloth.
All options: PW, PL, sunroof and AOD.
Being an SE it has standard: locking axle, 31x10.5-15 tires, V6, AC, tilt, cruise, leather wheel...

I'm gunna purdy it up.
It's nicer than it looks, just needs a good cleaning.
I'll have the roof and hood repainted.
And do over the mechanicals.
It will be nice when completed.
Thanks Rev.

I may change the hood, grill and front bumper to the 90-92 style.
This one is getting painted June 20th.
From the top of the stripes up including the roof and hood.
The small rust spots on the door corners and the rocker rust on the drivers side.
I got lucky with the mininal rust.
Color is vivid teal and the stripe appears to be a light jadestone green.
Very nice and I believe about the same color as the pinstripes on my 1968 Cougar.
Good luck in your hunt MilkMan.
I was patient but waited some time and I'm really happy with it.

DJ2 Comes up as Blue Jade in my 1994 Pathfinder brochure.
Didn't have a 1994 Hardbody brochure so I was going by the 1995.
Interior is K which is blue, I mean gray, I mean blue gray, I mean gray blue...
I'll know the name when my 1994 Hardbody brochure arrives.

Broke #6 spark plug.
It was real tight but I thought I got it loose.
When it came out I was amazed.
I never experienced this before.
Image
I was also amazed at the length of #2 and #4 wires boots.

Looks like no one ever bothered to touch cylinder #6 in forever. My VG has the same super long plug boots too.

Luck was with me.
A number 6 easy out and slow and steady removed the plug body.
I had to remove the intake thou.

jeez that's a lot of trucks. You own a small fleet man. Don't you have a few taurus SHOs as well?

I guess you don't every have to worry about having a vehicle to drive lol. Though I'd hate to insure and register all those vehicles.

I know, sometimes I wonder how it ever got to this point.
Ten years ago I had one car, my 1968 Cougar and it was undrivable.
So I was driving my Fathers second car, an 1981 Cutlass.
I currently have 4 trucks, 6 SHOs, 2 Cougars, 1 Contour and 1 RX7 convertible.
I should be down to 10 soon as I'm selling the 90 4x4, parting the 90 2wd, selling 1 SHO and parting another.
All my cars are classic tagged so insurance is low and no more annual registration.

what year is the rx7? please tell me you're going to put an ls1 in it

I would love to get a vintage/classic tag for my truck, but it has to be at least 30 years old and you're not supposed to use it for everyday use in alabama :bs:

It's the first year for the conv, a 1988.
Nah the Vette motor has been done, I'm installing a SHO engine.
I didn't buy the RX7 because I wanted an RX7.
I bought it because I was looking for a neat convertible to drop a SHO engine into.

looks nice :bigthumb:

I like the kawasaki engines that are the SHO, but it just won't give you the dragon's roar that an LS1 will. Maybe I'm just bias, but I think an ls1 in an RX7 is pure sex.

Ford hired Yamaha to design and built the engine bases on the Vulcan 3.0 in block cam engine.
Yamaha at the time was a leader in multi valve, multi cam motorcycle engines.
The SHO engine has a redline of 7,300 but will easily rev to 8,000+ if the governer is disabled.
It has 220 hp and 200 tq with a broad flat hp/tq curve.
The engine has forged internals and is ready to accept a turbo or supercharger.
Then hp will top over 400 hp.

yes, yamaha. Dunno why I thought kawasaki, seems I get those companies mixed up a lot for some reason.

I'm not saying that the show engine isn't a stout motor, or that it can't run with the best of them, but I just love the sound of a solid chevy pushrod v8, which the ls series motors are the pinnacle of.

to each his own though. At the end of the day it's your car and I'm sure that either way it'll be a sweet ride.

I have my 68 Cougar that will be getting a 351W Ford engine.
I want to go old school: carb, no computer and get the Cobra finned aluminum valve covers and T oil pan.
So that will be my V8 although not a Chevy V8.

I removed the interior for a good cleaning and floor board check for rust.
I pitched the carpet after saving a swatch for color match if I ever go back to the blue.
Image
Even the floor boards were dirty.
Image
I removed the sunroof and quarter windows for cleaning.
Image
Image
Then I started installing my taupe interior, I'll need to dye some trim.
I found taupe jump seats with trim panels years ago just in case I ever got a King Cab.
Image
I replaced the push pins with 2 part plastic retainers (blue) and a screw with Unut (red).
Image
And I installed dual lighted visors, dual A pillar grab handles and a drivers side headliner handle.
Image
And I'm replacing or painting all bare metal brackets.

Nice work! Adding a map light has been one of my favorite mods to my base '04.

I actually wired it up to come one either with the doors or with the switches. Basically I installed a diode to keep the map lights from backfeeding to the dome light.

That spark plug deal had to be fun! We had plugs seize in a 1982 Mazda 626 years ago, and my dad had to retap the threads in the head after breaking them loose. Now I use anti-seize compound any time I change spark plugs.

did they ever make a manual sunroof for these things?

You wouldn't happen to have a pair of those rear speaker brackets that you'd be willing to sell would you?

Anti seize is your best freind.
The Pathfinder and Hardbody only came with a non powered sunroof.
It can be tilted or removed.
And I do have an extra pair of rear speaker mounts.

I'll buy the speaker mounts off of you. just let me know how much you want for them shipped to 36265

I'm thinking about cutting a sunroof into my truck, but I don't wanna do it if I have to add a bunch of wiring as well. Good to hear that a manual sunroof should be pretty easy to find.

I'll try and get to the rear speaker mounts this week.
Last week the truck was at the body shop.
There were 6 rusty areas that needed repaired.
There are more on the cab but the bed and front fenders need to be removed first.
Anyway... here they are.
Care to guess total cost ?
