i used 3 coats of primer and 3 coats of paint, and in between each coat i sanded the letters with an emery board (stiff carboard sandpaper nail file)sanding off one coat 6 times is way easier than sanding 6 coats off once

i just used the air dremel tool with a sander bit. it was like 100-200 grit and it left kewl swirl marks.

sanding the cover took like 30 mins and i let the paint dry for a week before i took the sander to the letters.

It looks gret but make sure u mask off the paint around the letters or else the paint may take a liking to the dust and flying metal.

wow what made you bring this back to life? Thanks mang it looks sweet and it was kind of a lazy accident. Oh yeah and i have sanded the letters off so there is bare metal on the top of the letters.

I'm waiting on the meet to my friend. We just need some place to meet where we can hang. I know that eastTNs13 is tying to get his car back up and running and I’d love to see GR's car. I think her ride is in the shop too. I’m sure that's holding up things.

last i heard GRs car was still in the shop too.. btw..i just saw a link to the thread and figured i would put in my 2cents...i have a bad habit of not looking at dates..lol...where are the people on here that you know of located in Knoxville? Me and a few friends usually meet up at walmart or food city on broadway near halls. Need to get some cars outta the shop and start meetin somewhere. I am only 17 but..i get along well with older ppl..lol
