I thought it was injectors also but i put them on the osciliscope to see firing patterns, pulsewitdh etc etc and they are good. Benefits of my school lab.

I looked further after reading this thread and its from my intake vavle cover area.

I just put my cams in, but if this is a guaranteed method of preventing lifter tick, then I'll do it.
If you put the cams try it that way if not working then..
I belive theres no guarantes in this things but this is what i learn see the video and read this.

1- Take the lifter in you hand and knock on the table (wood) until "falls" the cilinder in it
2- Drop all the oil in the lifter and the small cilinder
3- Then clean ir with WD40 or fuel
4- Push repeatly the little ball inside the cilinder with a knife / toothpick or someting untill the old oil comes off
5- Clean again the cilinder with WD40 and push it (it has to be soft)
6- Dry with compress air, if you could, to clean it properly
7- Put upside up the lifter and fill with new oil to the half aprox
8- Insert the cilinder in it and push sometimes to mix the oil
9- Repeat this 15 times more

I hope it helps... Salute.

If it is only on the intake side, might be injectors. My DSM injectors aren't exactly quiet. Just because they WORK doesn't mean they're not just LOUD.

So oscilloscope won't tell you anything :)

Then again if it stops after a few seconds, may be your lifters just lose pressure while sitting but soon get re-pressurized once running.

The o-scope will tell u plenty, cuz if they were ticking for that short about of time
There operation patterns would vary from when the quited down.
