Ok. I have searched the threads and have come up with nothing on this topic. What is the big deal about aluminum (sp) and grafite (sp) wings. Everybody dogs them so much. Why is this what is the big deal.

Oh yeah,What is a JWT Pop Charger. I know about the post counting system but in real life I have no clue what that is.

everyone dogs on them because peopel act liek they are doing somethign when the spoilers are doing nothinghwoever, everyone is wrong

i have aluminum spoiler, and it IS causing downforce because the paint behind the spoiler is cracking grr

bascially, you have to look at the shape of an aluminum spoilerif the wing is shaped like an airplane wing except upside-down, then it will cause downforcepretty much any other shape and ur only creating drag

a jwt pop charger is an intake i believe

cracking on the back could also be caused by drag, or the shear weight on it sitting on the back that when you take off, its inertia tries to hold it there for a sec. but then again if there is significant drag and the wing is the "correct" shape then you will also have downforce

here are the pop chargers http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/poprest.htm

we dog on them mainly because ppl with FWD put them on their cars.. wich is pointless.. all that does is causes less traction.. now on a RWD car its fine.. it puts downforce on the back tires.. where u need it.. but for a normal day car driver its not needed.. unless your gonna do autox or go over 100MPH...

So why are they used in F1/Cart/touring/LaMas/GT/and just about every other high speed racing out there....i agree that in most cases they are usless, but with the proper wing, tuned properly, you can achieve effective handling performance....

Racing on the road? It's drivers like YOU that give the import scene a bad image. Keep the racing on the track.

Redline, if you've ever driven your 240 on a race track, you'll quickly notice your car is very stable over 100 mph without any weird wings plus it already handles great. If you're planning on doing some track events, upgrade your tires and especially your brakes, before wasting money on a wing. Those wings simply add drag which which is not a good thing for an underpowered car like the 240.

when I get a spoiler, its more or less going to be for looks, unless i can talk my friend at Tech to get me into a wind tunell. w00t.anyways, spend the 300 dollars or such on something like an intake or exhaust system, better tires, etc.

theres far more effective ways to upgrade your car than a spoiler or body kit.

The wings on the FWD cars are not intirely useless. And Just a wing on the back of a RWD car isnt all you need. The track cars that are FWD have addtional difusers on the front of the car and aero parts that create downforce on the entire body. The same goes with the RWD cars, just downforce on the back tires will cause you to lose stability. But as it was mentioned before, they are useless on a car driving down the highway or down mainstreet in your town going to work at the local pizza place.

Ok so I here that there are paint problems. Which means that the wing is too heavy. So what type of wing would I get that is either metal or poly. Keep in mind that im on a tight budget. THX

I love it when people put them on Front Wheel Drive cars. That to me is just funny. (LOL) From what I am told there is a very few designs that actually apply downforce in the way which most people want. However For example there is a Silvia running low Tens in the quarter (RB26Dett) engine with a T-67 they are running out of ideas for traction They already have 315's in the back and HKS Hyper Drag suspension. The are going to try and use a Wing to see if it will improve traction this is also a shop car that they have already upgraded the car to the fullest potential. You guys would love this car. If you are all good boys and girls maybe Santa will have some pictures for you this week. Just kidding I'll take Pictures for ya.

If you rake it enough it does work at speeds as low as 80mph however most of the rice-cars I see paid no attention to setting the angle and they actually impart LIFT! Maybe that pushes the front end down by relation, doh!

i find that these "aluminum" wings are for show...my theroy is why would they make a universal adjustable wing for all cars if all cars aren't made the same (coupes, hatchbacks, FWD, RWD, etc.)...if they are properly wind tested then they shouldn't be adjustable at all right!? take for example the cars with the manufactures wing or spoiler on the rear of the cars they are made for that particular car, thats why it's on that car...IDK thats just my wing/spoiler theroy

What about the R34 Skyline, the wing on it is made just for that car, buts its adjustable. And the wings on GT, CART, F1 etc. cars are adjustable. they are made for that car, but can be moved to compensate for wind and weather conditions. PPSSHHH, Gotham University, Xavier's SChool for the Gifted, i went to Bovine University.

K-Car, it's officially a lost cause. You gave it your best effort, but the bleeding-rectum crowd just isn't hearing you.

They haven't even considered the additional drag (albeit minute) and additional weight implications.

WAH... I'm broke... *WAHH*... I drive a wet turd - oops I mean a 240....*WAAAH*... I want a spoiler so the Honda kids will think I'm cool... *BooHooHoo*... I work at Burger King... *Sniffle*...Tino's cooler than me... *WAAAAAAHHHHH*.

STFU already.

I saw a study in Honda Tuning magazine that showed a dramatic increase in erectile dysfunction among people who drive cars with off-the-shelf wings. Apparently, when coupled with a drop in IQ caused by the lick-and-stick adhesive on the back of TypeR stickers, this produces a HUGE increase in the amount of pressure produced in the cranial cavities of Moderators, which consequently could lead to a stroke. So, NO, whatever your question was, the answer is NO, let poor K get on with his life in peace, and leave the wing on the shelf. For his health.
