1. Put the car up on a lift

2. use a trans jack to hold the rear subframe from falling on you and killing you.

3. loosen bolts

4. slide c shaped collars in

5. press the round ones in

6. re-tighten bolts

Too easy. If you can't do this sell your car.

I did this by myself. Yeah, it's easy enough. I was thinking that it'll never fall because shocks are holding rears. I lowered floor jack more than I needed to see what happens, but subframe was hanging there with no problem. Am I right?

I wouldnt risk it just use the tranns jack to be on the safe side and yes it is very easy a 10 year old could do it that has no knowledge of cars if told how to.

On an s14, should there be ANY play in the bushings? On the lift I pushed up on the sub frame assembly and it went up about an inch. I don't know if this is normal. While on the lift and someone going through the gears you can see the sub frame jumping. Thanks.

It moved an inch when you pushed on it by hand? Your bushings are definitly shot if thats the case. Does it klunk when you shift gears?

Holy dead thread!!!

No, only when I make a left turn and load up the sup. A guy told me that it was the drive shaft binding up b/c of the shift and mis alignment when in the turn.
