Intro: New M35 user.. just got a 2009 M35S , all four of the door actuators were shot so I got it at a great price.. had it a few months now and just now getting enough free time to work on it.

So, I replaced the driver's side door actuator yesterday. After doing so, the only window that works (power, rolls up/down) is the driver's side window.

I've tried a battery pull for 30 min - no luck
I've tried rolling down the windows with the remote - no luck

Put it on a machine and it's throwing the following codes: U1000 U1300 U121F U124E U1254

Cleared them and they didn't come back..

I don't understand what would have happened.. the Switch that is attached to the door panel obviously just plugs in, so i wouldn't imagine there's too much that could have gone wrong there? All four were working fine earlier yesterday...

I've searched everywhere i can't find anything.... does anyone have any ideas?

Welcome to the forum.

That's an odd problem indeed. Have you had a chance to investigate the FSM (factory service manual) which can be found in the link in my signature (FAQ)? Might help you out.

Have you tried to do a manual "Reset" on the windows? On my last vehicle, I couldn't get any window to roll down, if I didn't do a manual reset on the driver's window. After resetting the driver window, you had to resewt them all individually, and then they would all auto up/down, and powere up/down. There is a way to do it, and I am sure there is a thread dedicated to it on here. I would try that, and see if you have any luck. If I find a thread, I will link it.

I had wanted to recommend a window reset, but thought that wouldn't work since the windows weren't moving at all.
This is new to me too. Did you get Brando's old car? Haha

Let us know if that suggestion works for you. The reset procedure:

I’ll try the reset. Of course, all I can reset is the driver side one. But maybe what Brando says will hold up on this car too!!

Yeah I’ve looked extensively at the factory service manual and it’s not much help.

What process did you go through the 3 second/10 second / 15 second thing? Or something else. I’ve tried resetting the driver door and the sunroof and they’re fine and do their auto open close as they should . But, I still can’t get the other 3 to move...

The only thing all 4 windows have in common with the drivers door lock actuator are that they all have a master control on the drivers door along with the lock out feature. My guess is that when installing the actuator, you've either created a short for the common ground for the window controls or the master lock out. If I remember, even when the master lockout switch is enabled, the driver can still control their window. I hope that helps.

I just went to each window and did a manual reset. After they all reset, it is like the master switch on the driver's door reset as well, and everything was fine.

I have a door actuator problem on my 09 M35. Sometimes they all work sometimes only some work (random). I think its a power issue but I haven't had it diagnosed yet. The big problem is your alarm goes off if you open a door that didn't lock when you wanted it too.

I had been fighting a door actuator problem, too. It started with the drivers door not working intermittently and then starting in April got progressively worse, and the rear door on the drivers side started to act up, too. I bought a new drivers door actuator online and had a local repair shop replace it. $375 total vs. the dealer quote of $750 per door. Since replacing it, I haven't had a single problem with the rear door in over a month. I thought it might be a wiring problem or ground problem, too. In may case it was a bad actuator.

UPDATE: apparently it was the door switch. I can only assume I damaged it when pulling the thing apart. Oh well, at least it has been resolved! Thanks for all your insight and help!

Where did you buy your switch? how much did you pay?
