Tell your ricer friends they are 'retarded' and it won't work. The whole problem lies in the fact that both said cars use a transverse mount engine and transaxle whereas the RB is a longitudinal mount engine and transmission. If you knew ANYTHING about cars, you would see the dilemma here...

NightXCZ77 wrote:Yes Gaap, the swap is possible, however, you would have to take everything out of the engine bay and strip most of the car. You would have to hollow out a transmission tunnel, weld custom mounts for the transmission and engine, weld a new crossmember, make the necessary mods for it, possibly extend your front end, and then figure out how to put a rear differential assembly and K-frame in the back end....needless to say, a lot of work and a lot of money. The 04 Maxima is already quick enough...tell him to keep it and if he's really greedy for HP to buy some turbos.

Come on now, we are talking at least 30K easy, just to prepare the chassis. The engine bay is NOT long enough to even hold an RB in it. Now we are talking additional firewall work here. In the end you would have one incredibly hacked up car, that probably isn't very streetable, unless you re-engineer the entire thing. The K members will not bolt, they have entirely different suspension systems. You would be better off building a tube chassis car from scratch... ...or at least starting with a RWD car...

It's been done. You forget that sr's also come transverse or are you just as stupid as the thread starter?

Yes, that's an RB26 in a 350Z. NICO won't let me UL more than 300x300 images.

The following are 4g63 Civic, and an RWD Civic.
