I'm famous!! LOL! Piss drunk now and about to pass out for the night, but I'll check in my parts bucket when I get back tomorrow afternoon. I took apart that n/a neo a while back for mark and I might have thrown the solenoid into the bucket along with some other odds and ends. I don't remember throwing it away, let me put it that way. Do you know if a non-neo one is the same? I know I have one of those for sure. Loosing conciousness now.........

well im notsure if they are the same or not. but if your friend has the ablity to take a picture of it and throw it up on here for me to look at i can pretty much tell just by looking at the picutre if it will work or not. mine is leaking pretty bad right now , i actually thought it was the front crank seal but then i looked harder and found the connector going to the VVT solenoid was soaking wet with oil..

Sorry, must have chucked it. I'm sure I can find another n/a one monday, but it sounds like stricnyne is going to give you the hook up on his. Let me know though if you need one from a turbo motor or something and I can probably track one down. Might take a week or so though.

they are differant i just looked it up on skylines australia here is the quote 2. The R33 VVT plug does not fit the R34 VVT solenoid. I pulled both out of the engines and found that they looked slightly different - maybe thats where the better VVT control comes from? I'm guessing I can't change them over so need to get a need plug?

thats a negative, i really want to keep my VVT for the time being. i am still running stock internals (cams included). to be honest i really dont know if my VVT has worked properly for some time now... it would be nice to see a good working valve on my setup to see how well it works.

OK, I'll go looking. So you found out that a 33 one didn't work, but still don't know if a 34 n/a will or not, right? They are pretty easy to find. I can also hit up the stealership if that doesn't work, unless you just want me to have a new one ordered right off the bat. Shoot me an email and let me know.

Yeup, I got the email and I'm on it. Need my "translator" (girlfriend) to be off work the same day as me for weird parts like this, but I'm junkyard hopping after I wake up tomorrow (today) after my post mid-shift slumber. Hopefully I can find you a used one on the cheap

Well, I don't want to get your hopes up or make any promises, but that solenoid isn't exactly large--smaller than my tool bag for example I don't foresee it costing a lot as long as certain people aren't watching if you catch my drift

Risen from the grave!

I just had my neo's timing solenoid leak oil into the plug, so that means its done for/will always leak?

Luckily I have a spare :) I plan to swap them in the morning.

Im stoked to have found the issue! because with it not working my car doesnt like less than 24degrees of timing at full boost, yet when it operates normally it drops down to 19degrees *or 4degree below what the timing table is set to*
