First setup was TOO COLD (Didn't go above 70C!):

Stock Clutch FanCustom Griffin Radiator UNDER rad supportGreddy Coolant BreatherNismo T-StatZ32TT Rad Cap70:30 Mix Coolant

I changed the Nismo T-Stat to a standad Z32TT T-Stat and now I'm constantly at 80C. Maybe a few HARD pulls and I'm at 83C MAX.

This thread has been buried for 4 months but I forgot to update it and another thread reminded me of it. I changed my setup again and went for a custom radiator mount with dual I30 fans. With this setup I have 5" from rad to crank pulley without the fans on.I need to re-do the the hood catch, it sticks when I got to pop the hood. Also, believe it or not, its lighter and stronger than the metal I cut off.

No additional ducting.

Since the SPAL fans were installed, the engine has never gotten above 86*C.

I had some cheap Perma-cool fans installed before the SPALs and they couldn't keep the temps down when the weather was hotter than 85*F outside. Sucked!
Hm, I have a 12" Puller mounted on the passenger side by the coolant inlet & outlet, but I also have 2 12" FAL fans just chilling in a box in my garage that I guess I will mount on the other side of my AC condenser...Some might call it overkill, but I'd rather be safe than sorry, you know.

Glad to see someone else is running that setup before I did it though.

Would you mind taking and pictures? or wait, you have an S14, don't you?

Just updating on my fan setup.I tried to make it a effective as possible. 5" from radiator to crank pulley. The fans also make a vacuum strong enough to pull my hand onto the intercooler from 4" away when it's on LOW speed. Same go's for my front mounted 10x12 B&M oil cooler. Also, it's VERY QUIET.Link to pics:zerothread?id=453880

For what it's worth, you guys know I recently swapped out the mods you see in my build thread (mainly a 4" thick FMIC) for a stock RB25 with stock SMIC, but the same radiator, T-stat (actually a normal temp one instead of the low temp one), WP, etc. I instantly had zero cooling issues. I'm pretty sure it was due to the air flow difference of the FMIC not being there.

I'm pretty sure that's what my problem is/was. I didn't have any problems prior to installing my FMIC.

rbs14 , I will probably run the same intercooler setup and I thought about moving the rad forward by cutting the rad support . Is there any room to move the intercooler against the latch support ?

right now it's against the latch support !!! i would cut that lacth suport and run hood pins but it's not street legal to run without the stock hood latch here in QC
