I have been cruising the RB forums for quite a while... I have never heard of anyone pushing much more than 550hp in a RB25.. Maybe some rich Japanese company building one crazy engine just to test it out.. but

I have never heard of anyone in the states doing anything like that. I would have guessed that someone might have made mention of it.

I found this link in the General Chat forum... Here is the link to the Ebay auctionhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...sting

The engine does look spectacular! I just can't see it pushing 880hp.. even with NOS. Not on what he claims in a stock block. I have always heard that the stock block is good for 500 and maybe a little more if pushed.

What do you guys think?

Interesting story. Seems like a guy built the car, and sold it to the guy who now has it for sale. The current seller is apparently responsible for ricing it out. I dont think he can name hakf the parts under the hood...

The RB25 can make just as much power as the RB26 if built. If you are talking about stock internals, then not going to see much over the 600hp mark.

The RB25 can make as much HP as the RB26? Perhaps if we're comparing a stock block 26 to a built RB25.

His numbers DO add up. If he really took it to 9000 rpm at 25 psi with a 125 shot, then he should be hitting somewhere in the 700-850 range, depending on the tuning of course. Even if he did not take it there, at least he knows where it should be....

And for those who were wondering if the stock block would hold up to that.... well, didn't he say that the pistons were gone??? So no, it did not hold up to it.

Stock for stock the RB26 is going to be able to handle quite a bit more power.....that has already been set in the books. If you are talking about fully built to fully built with both the same turbo and supports with aftermaket intake manifolds, then the RB26 is just going to make a little more power, but nothing to noticeable at all. The only difference with the two if they were fully built would be the layout of the head, but the RB26 doesn't flow that much more then the RB25 and with a few modifications done to the head the RB25 will flow just as well if not better then the RB26's.

Also with this guys setup, it is possible to be hitting around that hp range. Never said the guy wasn't a tool, but just saying that he could be telling the truth and it is possible with his setup that he listed.

"Engine was installed in 2002 and the block is still stock. stock piston stock rod."

"700hp @ 25PSI on that", and "125 shot of nos controlled by the tech3"

this a bunch of BS

880bhp not rwhp. His shop- streetlegalimports was located in Miami and was a popular meet spot down there. The built more than a few rb's.But I doubt it had stock pistons, i saw a pic with the head off- the pistons looked too clean.
