RB25 S2 coils... (searched)

Ok, so I've seen that there are other coil options for RB20's and RB25 S1's, but I didn't see any mention of RB25 S2's having alternative options for replacement coils.

I'm simply not interested in plopping down $800+ for MSD or Splitfire at this time (definitely later), and I need a cheap(er) factory replacement coil to get me running good right now.

If I somehow missed the answer to this in the sticky thread or in a search, I apologize, but please link me the thread so I can read where it says for Series 2 myself and I would appreciate it.

Also, if anybody has working S2 coils they could sell, please let me know with a price. THanks.

Have you read this one? I don't think the coils are any different on the S1 vs. S2, they are just wired a little differently from the ECU with an internal ignitor chip on the S2. Same basic idea though.

I sure have read that one. I'm pretty interested in the setup, but honestly I prefer to use a direct replacement rather than a "home-made" solution if I can. Not to sound snobby, I just prefer direct fit rather than modify.

Yeah I know, a load of crap coming from a guy with a Z31 and an RB25!

I'm taking the coil to our sister Nissan dealership (I work at Honda) and see what they have that matches it and I'll post up what I find out. Thanks for the reply Darius, roll on!

i've heard about Q45 1 and 2 coils????Look into it!!I dont know for sure

q45 1 and 2 are for the rb25 s1 and rb20. I have a full set of the s2 coil packs that have been laying around for about a year now. Your welcome to them. With full harness attached.

Kuillin I sent you an email! That's so awesome coming forward like that to help me out..

I went to the sister dealership today and we tried to see if they could match it up, but we struck out with Nissans. They can't sell Infiniti parts, so was unable to get a match there. Buddy there though said he was pretty sure a 1997 to 1999 VH41 Q45 would match it perfectly. I'm going to continue researching that and see if I can't get a positive answer on it and post it up when I find out.

Hats off to Kuillin.. You have no idea how much my Z means to me and when she's down it really buggers me.
