Quick question regarding my rb, would it be suitable to run my oil filter directly to the block and discard the factory oem oil cooler setup? This will be a street car, so no real racing or heavy track use. Thanks

I am installing a greddy intake manifold and wanted to clean up the coolant and oil lines if at all possible. I was under the impression the stock cooling unit was there more for warming up the oil to help with emissions, than actually coolng it for any performance gains.

Have a look here.

At the bottom of the page I've incuded all the required part nos to delete it proper factory style.

You're still probably better off installing an external oil cooler though, something with an inbuilt thermostat so you're not super cooling your oil at start up but will protect the engine and turbo during hard driving.

Thanks a lot, i plan on running an external oil cooler eventually. Do any of you guys know of a decent sandwich plate to run? I have a cx racing one at the moment i thought about using.

greddy thermoplate is the best bet.
