Wha? That doesn't make any sense. The boost controller operates off of charge pressure whether it is at the IC piping or intake manifold (or BOV vacuum line). Are you sure your friend didn't tell me to put it in the line backwards? Still shouldn't matter unless it has an internal check valve. It is just a needle valve to restrict the pressure the wastegate actuator sees. And like I said, I wasn't sure which way was which so you just had to watch the gauge on the first couple pulls and adjust accordingly.

Here's the install manual for that controller: http://www.turboxs.com/faq/tyrboxsstd.htm

Looks like you have to turn the knob 3 turns CCW to get it to even begin to pinch down and increase boost. So to increase from 5 psi to 12 psi, you'd have to unwind that knob like 10 complete turns (3+7). Does that seem right?

okay.. i gotta tell you all. rb is runnin great except i was only running 5psi. i raced a stock GTP for $20 and got beat. and it wasnt me im a good driver it was the car. so today i chaged the oil new filter. figured out how to turn the boost up wit the boost controller. BTW darius i have to turn it 3 full turns for 1 psi then after that each notch is a lb. so anyways this morning the GTP got a intake and full exhaust. i turned my boost up to 7 psi, well it peaks at 9 and drops to 7. so i raced the GTP again today for 100. he was talking MAD s*** and i beat him by 6 cars!!!! hahaha i jus laughed at him cuz he was SHOCKED. i think he s*** his pants to!

I just read a new thread that showed you can directly fit an infiniti j30 tach into the s13 cluster without modification, looks good too.

yeah idk what a j30 is but tach still wont read right because it counts rpms differently because of inline 6cyl. and coil packs instead of plugs and wires

Does your tach move at all with engine rev or does it stay at 0? If it moves, you can buy a simple tach signal modifier and it will convert the voltage so a 4 cyl tach will work with a 6 cyl motor (in most cases).

BTW, it is an Infiniti J30 which has a 6 cyl motor. I haven't seen this mod for an RB before, but it should work fine. Does the tach look similar to the other S13 gauges or does it stick out like a sore thumb?
