Just up the front spring rate about 1 - 1.5 kgf/mm and relocate as much weight as possible to the rear. You shouldn't be able to feel a difference, but that doesn't mean their isn't a difference either.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. There is no ONE good motor. There are plenty. Its just how creative you can get and how much cash and money have to put into it. So choose the SR, or the RB for you. Not because one is better than the other. Don't get an RB because it came from a cefiro, or skyline. And don't get the SR because it came from a silvia. That means nothing because your car will be nothing like those factory machines. You would be insane to think that just by putting those motors in your car its going to behave anything like those cars. You can dream all you like, but in the end your going to have to live with your decision. Each motor has its own problems. Each is a great motor.

The RB25DET that I drove handled very well. It had tein SS coilovers in it. It was also a coupe with an RB20 trans and an open diff w/ 2piece driveshaft. It turned well for an S13. S13's have great understeer as is, so this motor does not improve nor make it any worse. It will handle just like what you have going on now. You may notice a slight difference if you have owned the car already for a long period, but I doubt you will care.

i got to say get whatever the heck you want....stock is bout the same. i love my rb20 and wouldnt trade it for an sr any day of my life.....but whoever just said they have the same turbo....i dont know bout ur turbo but mine is ball bearing and ceramic coated. the sr turbo is not....

Honestly if you want the RB then do the RB... the only wrong choice is the one you didn't want in the beginning.

Sounds like you have decided on the RB. I think you will be happy with that decision.

Do yourself a favor before you spend any money though. Do lot's of research. Visit the RB forum here on Nico.. look under the skyline section. Visit Skylinesdownunder.com and spend some time reading in the maintenance section. All engine swaps have their common problems... many RB20 or 25 swaps will have some small issues like cooling, idle smoothness, and fuel pressure being lean. You will save yourself a lot of headaches and possible cash if you know what to expect and how to prevent some of these issues.

Heck for all I know, you probably know a lot more than I do about cars/engines/mechanical stuff, so maybe what I am telling you is stupid.. But, just in case.. Make sure you are prepared for the project before you invest a lot of money into it.

Go to RB section and search and read and ask questions.

Good luck!!! Nice to have another RB engine in the states and on our forum.

You know, after I looked closer at the RB pics, the page says hemi-spherical combustion chambers, but the close ups of the combustion chambers look more like pent roofs to me. That actually makes a lot more sense to me than a true hemi-sherical head.

if my choice was between the RB20 and the SR20 I would go SR and I hate SRs but it is a better choice in this instance.

SR (S13) 205ps @6000 rpm 28kgm @4000 rpm

SR (S14) 220ps @6000 rpm 28kgm @4800 rpm

RB20 (R32) 215ps @6400 rpm 27kgm @3200 rpm

less torque but it pulls from lower down than the SR. I would normally err that way but when I figure in the extra hassle of trying to support the RB in the states it loses to the SR. The RB26 is worth that trouble but not the RB20 Can I just put in a plug for the CA

CA18 (S13) 175ps @6400 rpm 23kgm @4000 rpm

less power stock than the SR but more rugged.
