I'm using a coolant temperature sensor from a '98 Sentra

Does it have the USDM Square two prong male connector on it? Or is it the proper JDM oval 2 prong male?

Pic of the sensor, unplugged please.

Sorry, I don't have a camera on me so I cant take a picture. But yes, it's the oval one. It fits perfectly into the harness connector. The length of the sensor (top of connector to bottom of sensor node) was the same as the original rb20 sensor. The thread pitch was the same. The only physical difference was that the Sentra sensor had about 1 less thread, But it seals just fine in the manifold and doesn't leak.

Thanks for the Info. I've been waiting about 6 weeks for one through a dealer already. I'll give the sentra one a try.

[Just for future reference for anyone that might look in this thread]

I have my intake manifold off right now giving it a good cleaning and took some crappy pictures of the Sentra sensor.

I don't have the original rb20 sensor on me at the moment to do side by sides, but as you may notice, the thread count is substantially smaller and the sensor node is longer; so it doesn't sit high and hide in the pocket. This thread count allows for about 4 and half turns into the manifold before it's tightened town.

Source: RHDJapan, RawBrokerage, and Eric's Performance Parts have original RB Coolant sensors, but if you need one quick, I think this is a nice alternative.

I'll have to ask CarlH he told me about it back in the day and It worked as I am still running it on my RB20.
