and that 12 second slip is no way in hell related to a nearly stock RB20 haha. just because you guys are running the same boost dosent mean they are close to the same times. he has a better turbo, better tune and slicks. the slicks alone are worth half a second minimum.mugengsr wrote:how heavy is an s13 ... ?? im running my rb20det in my skyline at 14 lbs now with just an exhaust and dp and pod filter .. no way in hell comming close to a 12 : ) ..
Whats your setup right now? I can't rem what you had on your 20. I'm checking out how to get it to work on the skylines, Someone on the downunder boards told me you need a tach adapter on them because the Nissan uses a ground for the trigger and the MSD use postive power.lyon23 wrote:no video for this one.. I have some from about a month ago best was a 13.7 missing 2 gear... I was looking at all the msd setup trying to find a way to install a 2 step..I thought about the ultimate emanage..but i will take a closer look at the msd
Then I hope you either A) have an aftermarket turbo and neglected to mention it or B) live somewhere where it's really, really, really cold, because otherwise, you're just begging to blow something up running at 14 psi.mugengsr wrote:how heavy is an s13 ... ?? im running my rb20det in my skyline at 14 lbs now with just an exhaust and dp and pod filter .. no way in hell comming close to a 12 : ) ..
what are you having done to the block, the standard rb20 is a very durable engine........ please dont say 2.4, you have no idea..........JDMEnthused wrote:my RB might be here at the end of December. i just need to find a good machine shop to do a few things to the block for some toys :-p
Where did my cylinder wall go?Carl H wrote:what are you having done to the block, the standard rb20 is a very durable engine........ please dont say 2.4, you have no idea..........
max you can bore the motor safely is 82mm, which with the stock rods and crank yeilds a 2.2, however a 2.4 is a stroker motor and requires mods to the block and a rb26 crank and rods.matt_calgary wrote:

If you'r thinking about boreing, I think TOMEI makes a kit for 2.2, the biggest I've seen anyone run safely.
Back on topic, 12's with minimal engine work! Nice to see. Biggest advantages I noticed were slicks and clutch-type LSD. How's the spool on that HKS turbo?
t3/t04e turbo .60 /.63 , safc2, 450 rx7 injectors, 2.5" down pipe to 3" exhaust, q45 maf, 12"x24"x3" intercooler and the skyline piping, mbc, welded diferential.Yellow4g63 wrote:
