who says the rb24 is not reliable ??? there is tons of meat left in the block when bored to 82mm ... its a common thing to do with rb20`s elsewhere ..im building mine for it this winter .. tomei makes pistons or you can use 4age toyota forged pistons and mill the tops for clearance in the rb head and hks greddy and timei make the over bore head gaskets up to even 83mm in the rb20det block .. also you need the crank from an rb26 and rods .. the only mods to the block other than the bore is two semi circles cut into each side of the bores on the bottom to clear the rb26 rods ...

the rb24 engine builds i have been researching have been getting upwards of 600hp on a properly tuned setup

and to the post about running 14lbs .. going to blow something up ?? how is that the stock turbo is good to 14lbs as long as you dont spike .. and other than that the stock setup is good for it ... im running it now with not a problem in the world ..... and when it blows up or even if it doesnt this spring it will have a gt3037 and the 2.4 block and the stuff to support it ...people have no faith in the rb20 ... it is a pretty robust engine and i will prove it : ) .. and i have seen dynos of around 400hp on a stock bottom end and head gasket .. but yet people say it cant be done ... : )

and yes i do live in a very cold climate : ) in Newfoundland ,CANADA : )

here's a little clip on the dyno and at the track...Please save as

you can see what hapens when you vent your bov to the atmosphere and not recirculate it.

Calm down Mugen. You don't have to prove anything to anyone about the RB20. If you do that then all the Sr20 fan boys won't have anything bad to say. Then there would be more Rb20 swaps lol. Lets face it the Horse power is going to come from the head. The bottom end is just going to hold the power. I'm going to build a Rb24 spare motor too starting 06. Then I'm going to push the stock block and see how far the 2.0 can go before I drop in the Rb24 . Are you going to run the factory GTR rods? or aftermarket rods?

Pretty impressive in my books. Second run at a drag strip ever. I'm convinced i can hit 13.7 with proper shifting.
