RB20DETClipVenus- Auto$1200NO I WOULD NEVER BUY FROM THEM EVER AGAIN. Sent me a blown motor, i didnt compression test it when i first got it. That was my BIG mistake. Bolting on turbo and ITM and then figure that I should Leakdown test it.There is no 2nd Cyl, it didn't exist

I call him up Ronald swears up and down that they compression test every motor. But i say ok and im like hook me up with a motor. He sells me a long block. Long block gets here and..... GUESS WHATRonald from VENUS AUTO has sent me yet another CRAP motor. I leak it down all of the air is coming out of the exhaust.

THANK YOU VENUS AUTO FOR SENDING ME NOT 1 BUT 2 CRAP RB20DET'S

Ronald did not want to do anything about it, I got my $ back and now im rebuilding my 1st crap motor they sent me. But all of there motors are compression tested!!!!!!

That was a post previously on here NICO

I got my money back for the Long block that they made me BUY $600 shipped. The whole motor was trash, the turbo, the head, 2nd cyl, there was pieces of crap in the motor, i have pics if your interested.http://photos.yahoo.com/ka24et240

for $1500 you can get a nice motorset from jhot. you don't need a clip for a rb20 swap and everyone i know who has dealt with jhot has been satisfied, myself included.

Indeed...I got my motorset along with many other parts from JHOT. Very reputable place and very knowledgeable people. Plus being right around the corner is pretty sweet as well.

Man, that sucks for all you guys that've had bad feedback from venus..... : /

We get all of our SR's/RB's/Rotary motors from Venus, AND they have YET to send us a bad motor.....

1500 for an entire front clip is cheap is ****, i dont understand how you could ***** about that.

i PAID 2600 for my RB25DET motorset with Motor, transmission, HARNESS / ECU. The only THING they ****ed up on was the MAF, they sent me the wrong one and i got another one sent back for free exchange.

get a front clip, not just a motorset. usually, motorsets are missing maf, an smic parts. plus, you get brakes , gauge cluster, bigger radiator, hoses.....you just get a lot more for a little bit more money. i got my front clip for 1200 bucks from some place in WA. I went and picked it up in my dads chevy (we got lots of stares on the freeway) and saved about 500 bucks on shipping. the place we got it from worried me when i saw it, but the motor is in great shape and besides a bad waterpump, the motor was in near perfect condition. I bought the clip on EBAy, they had good feedback......maybe i got lucky, and it was a couple years ago.

I wanted a clip cause it would be "easier" to do the swap, but a motorset is just fine. What I did was buy TopHat motormounts for a nice fit without you banging your firewall back cause of the starter.

Excellent service. Got my RB20 with EVERYTHING for $1100 shipped from Canada to Connecticut.

No you dont need a crossmember. It takes up too much time but its worth it in the end cause you have $300 extra bucks in your pocket ($100 vs $400 shipped). I just didnt want to take anything apart.

I got mine for $900 plus shipping cause when I called they were recieving a whole new load of RB20s (about 20) so I guess I just lucky. I spend about a week talking to him and finally got the price. If you are interested or want to give it a try, talk to Robert. VERY good guy and will take care of ALL problems you might have like I did during shipping. Took a month!!! but it was during christmas and all the snow storms pushing it back further, gggrrr...

When I first got it:

Now:

RBTally, I want your intake manifold!! It looks so empty without it! Please message me back at [email protected] Thanks!!

Correct. There are 3 pieces.

Here are what they look like:

You can kinda see it stocking out under the oil dip stick (Black)

And obviously you stick it in here. Fits like a glove.

Basically it just replaces your stock RB mounts with this new s13 RB mount.

I bought 3 coil packs from venus auto. They turned out to be the wrong ones, I'd imagine they were SR coils or something. I called them the next day and someone with not so good english actually argued with me "i pull those coil packs out of rb20 myself!!" "look dude, do you want me to send you pictures?" Vickie e-mailed me back and sent me the right ones, I agree she's helpful. A week later I got the right ones, put them in... Still no spark. I totally ex'd out coil packs as being my ignition problem because they told me they were run tested. Turns out the new ones were bad so I bought some from the factory.

I've known a couple of guys who've got their motors from venus without problems. I havent had much luck with them though.

Also food for thought. Never ever concider getting an engine through osakajdmmotors.com ...they are as good a place to buy an engine from as flashoptionsi bought a ca18det from them a couple years back and the problems were countless.....low complression, missing freeze plugs. hacked up harness and the engine was locked the f++K up and through countless emails, calls, and attempted legal action i ended up eating $1200 for a locked up ca!!!!If anyone else got screwed over by osaka then send me an email....can you say class action suit!!!!
